How did you get this?
What map? The blue prints?
What red numbers? There aren't any red numbers on the blue prints, are there? Am I already that drunk?
Did you leave a message?
Can we search his voice mail?

so much to answer for Holy JFC
2 hours away from the computer and Ron bites it. That really sucks. I feel like we set him up.
I'm normally a pretty angry guy, but now I'm a race car and I'm in the red!
I'm a mushroom cloud laying mf'er!
There goes my night out.

Perhaps he has a phone 'service' (like getting a postoffice box at Mailboxes Etc) incase his bosses try to listen to his real phone at home.
Or, this could be a cell phone (and you can select what area code you want).
Regardless, I called it last night and left a message. And didn't try to listen to them either. That might be another puzzle. We'd need the passkey (usually a 4 digit code). Any hints where that might be (if he wants us to find that)?

well, obviously ron wanted us to have his phone number for more than just to leave him messages, or he wouldnt have given it to us in the manner which he did.
i think we are supposed to listen to his voicemail, which means he must have also given us a pin number as well.
since the map was a hidden message, and it came with the diary, and there isnt much in the way of useful information in the diary (especially considering it was his "last wish" that we have it) i think that there is a pin number hidden in the diary.
i tried using the number of lines in each day's entry. that didn't work. the only numbers mentioned in the diary are one and two.
anyone else going down this path with me?

Here is the exact text of the voicemail message, for those who can't call or don't want to. I think it's a pretty standard message:
Quote:
"Hi. This is Ron the Webmaster. I can't answer my phone at the moment. So please leave me a detailed message with your name, issue, and your number. Thanks."
Pressing * then takes you to voicemail, where it asks for a password followed by #...

Everyone always seems so eager to hack into voicemail, I know we've not been specifically told not to yet, like in B**s, but what would we gain from guessing the pin number.
Will anyone important have phoned Ron? I don't see who would've. It'll be a lot of messages from us. However, I also see the point that why _would_ there be a voicemail number if something wasn't supposed to happen.
Unless of course it's logging all your phone numbers for future interaction ... I hope you like death threats!

Well, I called him, and I'm pretty damned important...
SPEC: It's entirely possible that Ron would have called himself, and left us a message.

Or someone from work:
1. threatening him
2. setting up a meeting (and then he disappears)
3. maybe he contacted "jc" and "jc" is returning his call
4. maybe he found Ed and Ed is returning his call
Why give us his phone number if he isn't answering his phone.....
and has yet to return any phone calls (even those to his office phone). I mean, come on, not even returning Heather's calls?????

I agree with konamouse.
It isn't likely that Ron would take such care to get us his voicemail number if we weren't supposed to interact with it in some way.
And mind you, I don't suggest that we *hack* anything. I merely suggested that perhaps a pin number was given to us in a similar manner as the phone number, hidden in one of the documents Ron had delivered to us on his, well, unavailability.

From the message - "Hi. This is Ron the Webmaster. I can't answer my phone at the moment. So please leave me a detailed message with your name, issue, and your number. Thanks." - it sounds more like this is a technical support line for TT rather than a personal number (I mean who has a message saying "Hi. I'm Bob the Teacher") so if we're supposed to get in I'd guess it's to find a message from someone at work.

One thing of note is that the outgoing voicemail message from the phone number on Ron's map and the original TT outgoing voicemail message from Ron are identical.
