Hi Laura,

Great job on figuring out the email address! I'll bet your correct on the location. Theo is really taking great steps to put the rings at remote locations in order to make them harder to steal. I'm sorry to hear that you can't make it out there, but we're going to have to get someone out there! I wonder if some of our agonothetai in Austin might be able to make it? Good luck!

So, whaddya say, Jasper... wanna make a trip out of it? I will also see what I can do about flying out there.

Yeah, I am at my own disposal during the next 10 days. I feel car sick just thinking about it! I have no TheO credentials, though.

mapquest says it's 6 1/2 hours from Austin. If we get up early, we could do round trip in a day.

ETA- my friend who first off said "I'm not going to Marfa" now says he's willing to drive if we do it Friday or Saturday. Rolling Eyes

The phone message says we are supposed to set up the location of the transfer. Maybe they'll come to you somewhere relatively close (like a day trip away?)

We must've gotten a good room (as compared to the reviews).
They've obviously done a lot of recent renovations and I remember thinking that some of the features were pretty upscale for what should've been a no-tell motel. Like the raised (inset?) ceiling treatment/moldings.

The Hindi lady at the desk was very nice.

There were a few swallow's nests in the outside archways.

Not bad for a 1am check-in.

ETA: The daytime speed limit on 10 west of San Antonio is 80mph. So, you can make pretty good time for that part.

yeah, it would be good to get some clarity on that idea.

I wrote back to the Ring Keeper for details, but she hasn't replied yet.

Jasper, would you be willing to pick me up at the Austin airport? I will pitch in for gas and food! I have to work on Friday though, so Saturday would be great.

Could do. Or could you come Friday night for a early, early pre-dawn Saturday morning start? I realize I have a different concept of early than most people.

Haha! I could do that for sure Smile I might have to catch a nap in the backseat for a while, though!

Great. Let's do this.

You obviously know where I am, from my theop number.

If you can get to this location in the next 10 days, then we can arrange for the dead drop. We'll need an hour to complete it. Bring multiple agents if you think it will make for a safer transport. Send me a date and time you can make it.

If you can't get here, I'll have to wait for an agent who can. Perhaps you can contact one and introduce us?

What was the message you sent?
