YEAH, this is just creepy stalker - something I honestly feel needs to be pushed far away from the community that is still trying to make a "legit" name for itself in the mainstream. This isn't an Alternate Reality Game, it isn't a game at all... you found a picture of someone, and are trying to stalk the person down.

First of all it is very offensive to call anyone a stalker. I am not a stalker. I am a citizen of the united states with good upstanding morals, i have a wife and a baby on the way and I have never been arrested. I am a Middle School teacher for crying out loud and have never, EVER been accused of stalking anyone.

SO please stop calling me a STALKER!

I brought this to everyone's attention as an idea to explore of finding long lost people. I think the person in the picture will be flattered to know we put in so much effort to find her and to return her picture; an action that seems so simple but yet carries so much energy.

I found this in Miami by FIU where I go to school.

And maybe she didn't leave the picture behind, maybe someone she gave the picture to left it behind.

The concept behind all this is to prove that we can still work together as a community with a single, pure intention instead of working to satisfy our own selfish wants like we do everyday in the society we live in.

first off, no one has actually accused you of being a stalker. We accused a behaviour.

THIS IS NOT AN ARG! Period. With any luck, a mod will stumble upon this and move it out of News & Rumors and then it won't matter how many of us say it isn't an arg, because it won't be in ARG related forum, it will be in "time wasters" or "V&S".

You guys are being very, very rude, and I don't like it. Sure this is in the wrong forum. Have it moved. Sure this isn't an ARG. It can still be in V&S. Back to my first point - have it moved. But you never have the right to disrespect someone just because they happen to post in the wrong forum. Putting it in perspective, it's like yelling at a person for putting the fork in the wrong drawer.

Now, wanting to keep people actually coming here, I suggest we stop the oppressive elitism that has been going around the forums.

Im kind of in between here. I think its obvious that he isnt tryin to stalk some girl, and that it was a neat idea (in my opinion), but they are probably right in that its probably not a good idea overall.

My main basis for thinking that this isn't a good idea has nothing to do with stalking. I don't think he's intentionally stalking anybody.

But no matter how he intends for this to go, it's going to come across as creepy. Maybe we'll be lucky and she'll be creeped out but let it go. Or maybe she'll call the cops, afraid that a group of internet people are stalking her. Which, admittedly, isn't an unreasonable conclusion to come to if she were presented with this situation.

We don't need that kind of attention. We don't want that kind of attention. That's why I think this isn't a good idea.

Alright, guys, I plan not to say much about this clearly divisive thread but I'll say this.

Setting aside the ethical issues of whether the community would be abusing its powers in tracking someone REAL down (my opinion is that it would be an abuse and we should NOT do it.... last thing we want the Jack Thompsons of the world going after our fledgling art form) AND setting aside whether phyzix is a just someone trying to do something nice but potentially misguided or whatever(I have no opinion either way).

Setting all that aside... this is one of two things

Either this IS an ARG and phyzix is posting IG in UF which is very very bad, or its NOT a game and should NOT be in News and Rumors.

Finally, let's cease with the personal attacks mmkay?
