However, I just got a deliciously interesting idea that I sadly won't be able to pull off since I'm going to be away for the weekend, and therefore unable to write back.

What if we ask Diego and Isobella to do the last parts (rose and sand)? Doing nothing makes them out to be not-nice people, and it also gives them a chance to redeem themselves for putting Surry in the situation, accidentally or on purpose. Plus, if our mystery helper isn't on the up-and-up, it gives them a chance to call him/her out on it.

Anybody want to write Diego or Isobella, see if we can get a response?

Feather is here. I've also included a photo of the roses used during my wedding ceremony. Not picked at midnight, perhaps, but they were used slightly before the dawn of my new life with my wife. I think the symbolism is appropriate

Something just occured to me when reading the instructions:

"Say the chant three times" Alas, it didn't, so now it seems we have a new dilemma.

Oh boy, this is a bit of a dilemma. To think, just adding in the word "more" would have solved this. Maybe we should leave this to Mikey's judgement, see how many times he think he should say it.

I'm not totally convinced Mikey's in any state of mind to make any decisions. As a matter of fact, I'm not entirely convinced that Mikey can carry out the ritual. We can't do this by proxy can we? Have someone else do the ritual at the same time, for insurance?

My personal opinion is that Mikey does still have the sense to do the ritual himself just from the emails I have recieved from him. He talks of seeing horrible hallucinations but he also talks about hoping this works and wanting to get back to normal. I think he can do it and I think he will be able to tell if it has worked or not. But it can't hurt to have someone else do the ritual at the same time, I think that's a good idea.

My impression just from reading through the incantation is that the chant is to be said three times total. But you are certainly correct that technically it would be four times since the wording says to "repeat" it three times. I think we should bring this up to Mikey and just let him use his own discretion. I think he still has his wits about him enough to make this decision. Good luck guys, I'm headed out of town. If you would like to add to the Incantation, open it in Audacity (file->open->incantation.mp3), then just click record and start chanting. When you are done, click stop, (play if you want to hear it) and then file->export as mp3. Then upload it somwhere and post it here. Whatever the final file is we will give to Mikey. I'm assuming he will want to do this sooner rather than later, so hurry folks!
