Sounds like the DVD is getting all the votes
Cineball, your help would be greatly appreciated ! Especially for a project this size.
About your suggestion re. the promotional video : it's an interesting idea but don't you think there could be a problem with copyrights or diffusion rights for these ?
Good point. We may be able to contact McD's for legal permission... if they, in fact, own the rights to the videos.

Either way, I'd appreciate if we could set up a delivery method for player vids. Perhaps placing them on Google video and making them available for download and then PMing me when and where they are available?

Indeed. Offering downloads can work both as a placeholder until "the real thing" is available for distribution in a better quality, and as a promotional tool for the DVD and ARGs in general It's a go.

Ok, I'll start cleaning up the first post in the thread to match the direction this project is taking, and we're going to need to get in touch with players and recruit people to participate on the project. I'll make a quick list during the day.
Also, set up a Google Docs spreadsheet and a document for us to brainstorm online. Send me a PM with your email address if you want in.
Cheers !
EDIT : On the topic of copyrights/content diffusion for the original videos, I'm going to send an e-mail to the copyright agent listed on this page .

Count me in, too!
I have photos and videos if you'd like to use them, and I'm working on a Multiverse Olympics interview series that could be included if you'd like.
I think it would be cool to throw in some Google Earth views of city labyrinths too.

I know it's a little weird interacting with the PM in the middle of the game, but since this doesn't related to plot or anything, maybe someone could contact Jane and see if someone game-related has started stockpiling all the videos and such and if maybe some sort of memorial thing is already in the works? I'm thinking if a company like McD's is investing in something like this they'd want some sort of documentation for themselves of what it was all about etc.

Laura : Sending out the invitation to the Google Docs.
Dreamerblue : Very good points. Once the situation re.copyrights is sorted out with McD, one can only hope they'd be glad to provide material as long as it doesn't threaten their ownership.
This said, if a memorial DVD of some kind is in the run on their side as well, that might make our own project kinda redundant.
EDIT : Having official Lost Ring material on the DVD would be interesting as it's bound to look very very polished, but it would also prevent us from distributing the DVD under whatever licensing plan we choose. Thoughts ?

I got that covered-- I'm making a powerpoint of some of the city labyrinths, which will include some Google Earth views of them.
I can try to make an offline version of the wiki if you want. At the very least, I can try to make the wiki into one or two documents detailing the story and some images/videos.

Re: [META] Goodbye Lost Ring ! Re: copyright Y'know, we don't have to bust through the fourth wall to deal with our copyright concerns. In game, these videos were created by Eli Hunt and Ariadne/Alex, right? So someone can write to them, in game, and ask for permission to use the videos in a Lost Ring compilation. [META]And if they say yes, I think we can safely assume that the out-of-game copyright holder is also granting permission.[/META]
