the background voice struck me as Japanese or some other Asian language. Not sure just first impression.

does anyone here speak french? what is being said by the woman?

Yes, but if you are asking about "namaste," it's not French. It's sandhi. It's a respectful greeting in India. They say it all the time in my yoga classes. Smile If you're hearing other French, I could help. But only a little better than Shannon... lol

As for the Hollywood "humor," the very first time I logged onto the OGR page (like 5 seconds after the commercial), I clicked on a "rules" link. It did mention a contest of sorts. Those rules weren't around the next day, though.

Of course, that doesn't mean anything, but my wish/hope/fantasy is that the "winners" get to be extras on a show or something (Oh... and also that I am a winner. Wink ). It is "recruitment" and in the booth I had to hold a number up and say my full name for a video camera. Kinda felt like a "reading" to me...

But that's neither rumor, speculation or otherwise. Just a kid's hope...

Namaste is the greeting Dharma has used from the beginning. I think they're talking about the womans voice in the background of the test itself.

Yes, exactly. There's a woman speaking the same french phrase over and over again on the test.

For those that are interested, here are the sounds embedded in the test. I, for one, am going to be using some of the beeps as system sounds. Sound8 is the interesting one, as it's the background sound played during the test--including the female spoken part in whatever language it is.

I dunno. I speak French. Better than Shannon, anyway. I didn't hear French on mine. I heard what at first I thought was Korean, but at the end of one of the "phrases" I heard (or thought I heard) "Kikoeteiru ka" which is Japanese for "Are you listening?"

Now you have me wondering if there are instructions in a foreign language buried in there.....

I'm not sure of the similarities between Korean and Japanese, but could it be possible that the two are similar?

I believe the language the woman's speaking in the background of the text is Danish. Hanso, after all, is Danish. I can't say with any certainty because I don't speak Danish, but it certainly sounds like it.

Oh, and I forgot to mention... Had the site lock up so I had to do part one twice. The pictures DO NOT always line up with the same answers. I got all the same possible answers, but the pictures changed

I think you got it. I was listening to it again and thought it started to sound like German to me but not quite. So the Danish seems more likely and it fits with Van Eegan and, as you said, Hanso. Don't know why it sounded Asian to me at first... think I just need some sleep Smile

It's the Old Dharma logo with lines connected and filled in. I don't think they connect.

During the LOST Experience when people were having problems getting the page to load, it helped to clear your cookies or empty your cache.
