That hurt my eyes, anything I couldn't decipher i put in (these), forget their name, also the third paragraph had like...spelling mistakes, or maybe it was from focusing my eyes so much.

That letter sounds familiar. My copy of the book is not in front of me; could someone with a hardcopy check the letters? I'm reasonably certain that's a verbatim transcript of a letter, probably in one of the later chapters (10? 11?).

When I saw the title of this thread, it reminded me of a fruitless search I did a while back that lead me to Watchmen stuff. It may be a long shot that this is related, but I'll post my think track and let you all decide.
