Well -

No one seems to be very sure of what it is exactly. A viral, an ARG, an experiment.

The organizers just recently released another cloaked-in-mystery interview
here

To me it seems that to them it's an extended but "planned" game that is influenced by the participants but also an experiment of sorts to see what people come up with.

In my opinion it's not working. It was my first experience with ARG type entertainment and it's hard to let it go, but it isn't much fun to just rhapsodize poetically about a blurry picture and then have someone tell you what it *really* is - over and over and over again.

But some people are still having fun, so it's working for them.
