maybe cause there is no link? eklispe global has its own thread.

Exactly. Eklipse is for a different ARG.

So nothing happened over the weekend? Except that us on 15th place suddenly dropped to 16th by someone scoring points in some way.

I haven't played that many ARG's yet, but this is the first one with a point system. I'm not a fan of this, makes it too competitive and there's an air of every man for himself, like it's not such a group effort as usual. But perhaps that's just me being impatient, and things will change on Aug 15.

You know... I've not gotten anything back from my inquiries or proddings... Perhaps we need to focus on getting Zach's info (as in what he did abroad)?

Edited to Add: Of course THIS might explain why they're so stressed and quiet!

Zach's reason for travelling was mentioned on Ethan's blog, to pitch their business to investors and business clients. As far as I can tell, there's no urgent reason to contact the characters. No questions, no dilemmas, no problems, no solutions to be found ... But if that's the case, how come some people are scoring points?

Ah, I checked the rules page.
Game skills speak for themselves. Social skills get you points as well. I'm sorry but I've been socializing like crazy.
But a $1 donation earns you 10 points! So technically speaking, if I fork over $89 I become a "friend", $140 and I get 1st place. I'm sure there are people crazy enough to actually do that. Good for the developers, of course, not for us actually wanting to play the game.

I think I'll brush up even more of my social skills and hope for the best, instead, while waiting patiently for something to happen for which gaming skills are needed. But social skills won't get me far, because the characters won't answer personal messages until you've reached friend status anyway. Is that what they call a catch-22?

is this new?

Quote:
Last night, we celebrated the official launch of SecureIDGuard with our employees, families, and investors. As we toasted to the success of our company, I reflected on how the previous month of travel has shown me how valuable our service will be to the world.

I met with officials in Germany and Russia, who showed me the intricate online dealings of criminal and terrorist organizations. In South America, I visited the abandoned mansion of a recently convicted drug lord, and watched as technicians picked through the remains of a sophisticated computer system, which had coordinated not only the sale and delivery of billions of dollars of cocaine, but which had also been used to steal sensitive government information for blackmail. I met with top Israeli military officials, and discussed the security needs and solutions of a war torn nation. And in South Korea, I met with several international corporations to discuss the security needs of a rapidly mobilizing online Far East.

Throughout my travels, I was shown some of the darkest corners of the internet, places where credit cards, social security numbers, state secrets, weapons, and drugs, are all for sale to the highest bidder. Officials around the world are dedicated to crushing these black markets, but we seek to stop the problem at it's source by protecting your greatest asset: your identity.

its on secureid. so im guessing this kinda makes the "messages from the ceo" zachs blog?

EDIT: and. one dollar? are you serious? now i understand you need money for whatever reason but to give out points to the people that pay seriously undermines what the rest of non paying players are trying to do. ugh. just leaves a bad taste.

Looks new to me. Will coded messages from Zach look like code or will the real message be hidden in a proper sentence? Does the Haglin convertor convert in this way?

Darkest corners of the internet huh? Sounds like that awesome Dateline "To Catch and ID Thief" show...where the darkest corners of the internet was IRC! Anyone see that? Chris Hanson totally follows this guy to Nigeria with a home theater system and then to Switzerland as a fake investor.

Anyway...I get this feeling that we are waiting until August 15th. Because Tyler hasn't been responding to PMs or anything.

I'm still holding out hope that this game will be awesome when it launches.

Having completed the Dharma test, I got bored and messaged Tyler. Here's what transpired:

Hi Sherri - I did meet mystery Zach at the party! I had fun, I brought my friend, Madelyn, along with me just in case Ethan had to smooze. He was so manly, you know, doing his business thang?!

xoxo Tyler

AAAAHHHH! She's using the bar pic. OMG. THE BAR PICTURE!

I know...that bar. The light switches with the shelf with the weird sculpture above it. Plus the ice coolers are under the back side of the bar versus the front side like many bars...

Probably peeking behind the curtain, but I KNOW that bar.

I've kinda missed out over the past week or so...I was in the hospital and then I had something that needed my immediate attention right after that. But, good news is, she posted a new Vlog today...only about an hour ago. Check the myspace

In other news...sorry for the double post...I think that because I didn't send in the enrol e-mail from my game registered e-mail address I never got a response

Edited to add:

Ok, did anyone notice, that it seems like our Zachiepoo was getting in WAY over his head in his travels as far as knowing and seeing stuff that normal people aren't supposed to know and see? I wonder if that's going to have anything to do with this.....as a matter of fact I'll almost GUARANTEE that it does

One more edit to add....

Looking at the board of directors...

ANGELINE JOLIE - Chief Financial Officer
JACK GYLLENHAAL - Director
RYAN GOSLIN - Director

Really sirs (or madams) REALLY? That uninspired name wise?

Sorry, this is spiraling downhill fast from what I'm reading

Wow, 320 points overnight, got me 11th place for one small suggestion? I thought I'd get only 10 points or something. But I'm not complaining!

Too bad I'm going on vacation Monday. Might have still been a chance to reach that Friend status.
