Well I guess I'll bring this thread back to the top for a bit.

Username= I'm a hopeless romantic and there's no such thing as a "true" Romeo but I like to believe I'm as close a woman could find. Therefore I'm a makeshift romeo.

Avatar= I hate those stupid x's that pop up when I can't view an image so I thought I'd get some smileys to kill one for me.

Well, since it's at the top...

Big_Larry is, well, simply a description. In my clique in Austin, there were two of us named Larry, and I was the larger of the two (I'm 6'5" and 350+ lbs.), thus I was called Big_Larry (among a series of other names, none of which can be reprinted here in mixed company).

I've had a series of other names online, as I've been around since I got my first computer (a VIC-20, the same computer Linus Torvalds got his start on) with a tape drive and modem (300 baud! Woohoo!) back in 1982 or so. I think the most significant one was "Idle" which I used on a series of MU*s.

Anyway, enough of that.

The avatar comes from my Celtic heritage (my family comes from Ireland some generations back) and my calling (I'm currently in seminary). I found a stock photo online, manipulated the colors, whittled it down, and voila!

Hey, you. Wake up. WAKE UP! Sorry, but you were snoring.

Totally random, possibly invasive question (so you don't have to answer if you don't want to):
seminary for what religion/denomination? (I'm assuming Christian due to the cross, but I'm just curious about the denomination)

plz no religious fights anybody kthxbye

Oh, I have no problem answering this. After all, I'm going into the ministry, right? Very Happy

I grew up in the United Methodist Church, and that's where I've been called to serve. Now, let's be honest, growing up in south Texas means that the United Methodism with which I grew up is heavily influenced by the Southern Baptist tradition, so I'm a somewhat conservative evangelical United Methodist.

I'll also freely say that there are some points of polity and discipline in the United Methodist Church with which I take issue, but I feel it is my responsibility to be one of those who tries to change things from the inside. That is another part of my calling, and rather than move to a more liberal Conference (such as those in the far West and Northwest U.S., or even those here in Ohio), it is my duty to stay in the Texas Annual Conference.

And I'll be more than happy to field any questions regarding the UMC or Christianity in general.

Name= Tabster, because a friend of mine (clearly not good friends, youll find) thought that my last name was Tabby instead of what it really is (tobi**)

And that molded and changed over time into tab, tabster, tabmaster, tabalicous, and any variations (the girls call me Tabitha [im a dude, btw])

Avatar= BENDER bending rodriguez, because i love futurama *ITS BACK BABY!* and its the first thing to pop into my head when i joined. and not having an avvy looks queer.

Name: Nighthawk

Reason: I use to have a company named "Mach III Enterprises", "Mach 3" being the highest attained air speed by the SR-71 Blackbird.

"Blackbird" sounded too tame and "Raven" was taken on the forum I was on at the time, so I chose "Nighthawk" instead. It worked out since there is a military aircraft with that designation anyway (the F-117A).

Avatar: Oh come on... do I really need a reason for it? Isn't it obvious?

Pancito is Spanish, sort of, for 'little loaf of bread'. It's a nick my wife, who is una Tica, gave me, but you'd have to ask her why, cause I don't know...

The avatar...I keep meaning to do some sort of cool animation on it but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe have the eyes move or something...

coffeegirl18 is sort of self explainatory. I do like coffee and am a girl but I tend to be the coffee getter/maker wherever I work. The 18 was just a random number, nothing to do with age or anything.

My avatar is currently one of those Meez icons. They're fun as you can make them look like you. This one is very me but I have to find the right glasses for it.

The name Mavado - There is a swiss watch company call Movado, kinda pricey. Bought my wife one for her birthday years ago. Liked the name but didn't want to be a copycat so I changed it alittle. Been using it online ever since.

The avatar - Silence of the Lambs is one of my favorite movies. Anthony Hopkins is great as Hannibal "the Cannibal" Lecture, the consumate gentlemanly killer...anyway. I like the mask, too.

Picked the nick because my name is Arthur Nonymous (yeah, I've heard them all before Rolling Eyes ), and copied the avatar from the anonymous user on here.

In that case they might have thought to check context first...

Many people have asked me where i got my name and avvy from.

Back in 1997/1998 Half-Life 1 was popular, and my brother sucked at the multiplayer part of the game, so he picked the online handle Swiss_Cheese, cause he was riddled full of holes.

A year later I had a copy and wanted my own handle. But it needed to stick with the 'cheese' format. Well I was huge into Dragon Ball Z at the time and my brother had just gotten in the Japanese imported actual movies of DBZ, including the first one showing fusions.

Anyway, I loved Vegito (Goku and Vegita fused together) and i wanted to keep to the cheese name. So Vecheeso is Vegito fused with a piece of cheese. Which explains why my avatar is a piece of cheese with anime eyes. The sharp teeth are for effect.
