Totally slipped my mind. So, Jake isn't the killer, then.

But, that eliminates the whole "drug addict", leaving us with either Tony or Mary as that entry. Mary may be the expert, as she has police training.
And, they wants to kill Barry because of my mistake of forgetting to mention that Barry knows the listing.

Yes and no. Keep in mind the motivations for these characters are primarily driven by the PM. If they want a certain reaction, they'll keep poking with the right words and 'actions' until they get it

At this time there really is no particular reason to have Barry killed, as the characters are so determined to kill him, i doubt the PM would let this end as early as it will if he IS killed.

Something that popped into my head this morning.
Keep in mind that one of these individuals is Mr. Doofus, and can be relied upon to mislead you. Therefore, I recommend you keep a grid of who tells you what, and verify everything with someone else.
For example
Family Member: Anthony. First Mention: Mary. Confirmed by: ?
Granted, the killer could pretend to be someone else and use another person's IM account, but that renders this whole thing futile.
Why would the killer mislead about something like that? Because if Anthony is not the family member, but, say, the drug addict, it makes it that much more challenging to figure out who is what.

And I think that Jake would sort of mention that his father was killed in the first room. Obviously, it either slipped his mind(*pompous laughter*) or Mary's lying. Methinks Occam's Razor applies.

That picture is used as an avatar by someone on the forums; can't think of her(his?) username off the top of my head.

Gone but not forgotten: time of death 12:58 PM EST
I am throwing in the towel guys. I feel as if very few people care and those that do are not having a good time. So at this point it is just not worth it. Thanks for playing guys, but I am done, I will answer any looming questions you guys have, if any.

So, who was the killer supposed to be?
Sorry for the negativity, but the character of the killer was... obnoxious, and attempted to make people feel they would be at fault if people died. Since I refuse to accept responsibility for someone else going mental, I rejected this.
Other feedback, not meaning to pile on, but just offering observations:
* It appeared to me that the people in the room were going to do whatever the hell they wanted no matter what we said. This left us little to do except feed them data, which they used and/or twisted in whatever manner they chose. Whether that was your *intention* or not I cannot say, but that's what I *percieved*
* "The Messenger", in my mind, was a mistake. We have someone who knows all we need to know to figure this out, but he'll only give cryptic comments? He 'got in trouble' anyway for that, so there wasn't any reason for him not to spill all.
* It seems the killer got frustrated that no one 'got' what you were trying to lead them to, which didn't make him seem menacing, it made him seem whiny. The simplest solution to someone trying to deal with him, IMO, would be to refuse to play his game, and say "ok, go kill people. Have fun. Like I give a crap? Forwarded to FBI, dude."
We had no stake in this, and the consequences of playing by his rules were pretty gruesome - so people opted out.
How to deal with this? I have no idea, but having to 'goad' people to try to save these people didn't seem to be effective
