I got this reply from Brent the other day:

Quote:
Dear Dr. Faust,

Hey, I wanted to get back to you about Digitalis. Sorry I couldn't get back to
you sooner, but it was a pretty hectice weekend.

I went out to the midway on both Saturday and Sunday, but he was nowhere to be
found. This is actually pretty odd, as he's usually a veritable fixture out
there, unlike a lot of our other vendors!

I checked with his supervisor, and he told me Digitalis hadn't called in sick
or anything. He had no idea where he was, either.

It's kind of odd, frankly, as I can't remember the last time Digitalis wasn't
around when the park was open. Anyway, I will be sure to pass your message
along to him the first time I see him again.

Hmm... Digitalis seems to be AWOL... Either that or the PM's don't want us to know about him yet..

Other names for Digitalis

This exchange may have played itself out, but there is one thing I'd like more clarity on...The public relations dude said Digitalis is ONE OF the names the fortune teller goes by, and then in the next email says "around here we just call him the fortune-teller or the six-fingered man". I'm probably grasping at straws, and maybe the PMs figure this question has been answered, but "fortune teller" and "six-fingered man" don't really seem like names to me. I'm wondering if there are other more proper names he goes by. And also, is Digitalis a last name, and if so what's the first name, or jus, a nickname (as the public relations guy suggested)? Maybe you could ask more specifically if you write him again...

Great sleuthing, by the way.

Re: Email to Angus from the Park

(1st post, apologies is redundant)

I thought the park was only open on weekends?
I've heard that Dale's visit on 2/14 was allowable only because it
was Valentine's, so why is Brent now telling this CD contactee to visit
on weekdays?

Dear Angus,

Thanks for your interest in Ash Grove Park! Things should really be
hopping around here in August, so I'd suggest visiting us midweek to avoid the heavy crowds.

During the summer the park will be open during the week.

more mail

I just received this from Brent:

Quote:
Dear Dr. Faust,

I'm just finishing my day at work (or trying to!), and I wanted to get back to
you about Digitalis. I'm frankly getting a little concerned, as he was nowhere
to be seen again this weekend. It's pretty alarming, at least to me, as he's
never missed even a day before, that I can remember. Now he's been gone two
weeks in a row! I'm actually getting kind of worried for him.

One odd thing was, when I went out to the midway on Saturday, I noticed
something very strange. On the ground in front of where his stall normally is,
someone had etched some sort of weird symbol. It wasn't anything really fancy,
just some circles, but it seemed like it was almost burned into the ground.
I'll tell you, the PSA supervisor sure wasn't happy when he saw it!

Anyway, I've got tons of paperwork to do tonight, after today's festivities,
so I need to cut this short. I just wanted to update you on him. Sorry I
haven't been able to pass your message along yet.

Interesting! Very interesting! It appears there is more graffiti, and maybe it's connected to Digitalis...

/me calls dibs on the $500 reward if it turns out Digitalis was the one making the graffiti... Wink

I sent this reply:

Quote:
Mr. Bowers,

Thanks for your update on Digitalis. I am concerned as well, I hope everything is fine with him. Let me know what you find out if/when you do.

Your comment regarding the symbol with circles intrigues me. I am currently doing some research regarding graffiti in and around Aglaura. This graffiti has consisted of large circles, with smaller circles around their edges. I think there might be some significance or code hidden in these symbols, and it appears you've found another. Would it be at all possible to take a picture of this symbol and e-mail it to me as an attachment? This would aid in my investigation tremendously.

Thank you again. I really appreciate all your help.

I'll let you guys know what I find out..

Perhaps someone posing as a relative or friend of Digitalis should talk to the police and submit a missing persons report?
