I got a response to my cipher suggestion to 379, looks like Agent White is in a spot of bother =)

My email:

Quote:
Our mutual friends at the Alpha Agency contacted me with a task.

You are looking for a new cipher to be used.

I feel I can provide this.

Please find attached a document outlining the cipher and examples of phrases using it.

Response back

Quote:
Interesting code. It'll be under review. Out of curiosity, which "mutual friend" decided to give out my email?

I spilt the beans =)

Quote:
A person or persons going by the moniker of Agent White.

If this is an email you did not want compromised I would suggest you contact him as it is available for all and sundry to see.

I look forward to working with you again.

Interestingly 379 is a chen prime number.

It's cool that they are in character.

And a final response from 379 to my last email:

Quote:
Agent White. For some reason I'm not surprised. Thank you for informing me.

Maybe this leads from some random community points thing into some full fledged ARG doing spy stuffz for "customers"?

Hehe an email from agent white :

Task 3

Somewhat creative. Not the first place I would think to camouflage myself, for sure. Your points will be added momentarily.

And with that all tasks are now complete. Although the beer in the mailbox has yet to be surpassed =) Laughing

Hmm, I submitted my Task 2 photo and no response yet. Oh well. Working on 1 & 3 today. Having a hard time trying to explain what I'm doing with my camera here at work. Cool

Laughing I wish I had a picture! I heard a noise, ran to the window and was so transfixed, that I didn't even think to grab the camera.

I got a VEEEERRRRRY Interesting email 'from' Agent White. Apparently it was mistakenly sent to me, but y'all should see it.

I'll supply details after I finish evaluating your agents' codes, which admittedly, isn't much.

On 8/8/08, *Agent White* <agentwhite@alphaagency.org <mailto>> wrote:

I said minimum 50k. You still haven't supplied details, so I still
can't guarantee a price. As soon as you feel happy giving me
details, I'll post your investigation for the RAPpers to get onto.
And you forgot about my little discount on the encryption fees, too.
Tsk tsk.

The threats are very real, by the way. Call them insurance. I'm
smarter than I look.

Three Seventy Nine wrote:

Vague threats really aren't effective. You wouldn't want your
guinea pig running off in the middle of your experiment, would you?
Since you cut out the middle man, I expect you'll be cutting
price as well, due to there being less work for your agency to
do itself.
You said before it would be a minimum of 50k for investigation.
Since you so nicely cut out the middle man, I expect that price
lowered.

I simply thought you would appreciate me cutting out the middle

Regarding your investigation - don't forget that we have your
codes now. You wouldn't want any communications... intercepted by
a rival now, would you?

Three Seventy Nine wrote:

Are you so incompetent that you can't forward codes to

If you are training the new people, perhaps I should look
elsewhere for my investigating needs.

"mistakenly". W00t, this is escalating into what I thought it would be.

Experiments? RAP? Guinea Pigs?

I have to head to work in a few (should be back around 11/1130) and when I get back I'm thinking of *possibly* responding to Agent White somehow. He did ask me to delete the email so I'm not sure if I should. Certainly I shouldn't let on that I shared it with y'all... not yet. But is it even a good idea to have him know I read it? I was thinking of maybe respondign to his comments on my activity for Task 1 and including an off handed note on how I did read the message before I read the email telling me to delete it...

That could either encourage him to talk about it, just have him continue to tell me to ignore it, or really piss him off.

Its a sensitive choice. What do you guys think we should do? Just wait for now? Email him back in some way?
