I just got an email from Sony. It's the Sony Pictures Spotlight Newsletter. It's all promos for upcoming haps in Movies, TV, DVD, Blu-ray, mobile, etc. There are sweepstakes opportunities which I'm sure would fill my email with spam...no thanks.

It had an invite to join the Sony Pictures Spotlight on Facebook, which I did for good measure. (The little hostess has an annoying voice.) Nothing in the email or Facebook about d-9 that I can find. Is this all I get for registering with all those d-9/mnu websites? Maybe I should have signed up as non-human. Grrr. Twisted Evil

Anyone else get anything?

I got it too. Is Sony going to start spamming my e-mail now? I guess I got too trusting with the TDK viral, knowing that my e-mail wouldn't be abused by 42E.

I know, right? You shouldn't spam your ARG players...that's rediculous. In fact, if I wasn't so intruiged by the story, I'd probably drop it here and now...

just be calm this is very typical of an arg being run to promote a movie or video game or w/e. It may be a month before we even see anything else these things move slowly and so far they have produced the best results by that method. Sadly money motivates in this way, but u can be assured it wont just die since they have already commited money to it in the first place.

Oh, certainly. *That* I understand. But it would be nice if they produced enough to hold us over before they launched their rabbit hole....

Anyone else find it funny that the data file for the d-9 file website (the one that came out of that guy's cache) has "propaganda" entries at the bottom? Almost a curtain killer... MNU wouldn't call news stuff "propaganda".

To whoever's behind D-9, make sure you present that stuff to your programmers in-game. Wink

Hey,

Woah, from 17 to 20 pages, in like 2 days?
Anyway, speaking of the email stuff, I noticed - a while back that half the time on the comments and sometimes on the posts from George on his blog, the letter G is missed out? So I was wondering, when the people who comment leave their emails, for example:

BlaBlaBlaSPLATmail.com

Try putting g on that, because it look to me like the blog has the letter G missing in loads of places.

Could be nothing Confused but I thought I might mention it.
P.S I am taking a look at that code.

D-9 and all related websites are Sony products. If you registered on any of those websites, you registered with Sony.

I've never gotten an email from Sony until I registered with the D-9 sites. I guess an ARG is a good way to gather email addresses, but it will also put people off to any other ARGs that they may do. (Maybe if they gave everybody a free blu-ray player, they may be forgiven.)
