I've seen the static but I'm not seeing these secret messages. Can you share any more specific information so this can be replicated?

You have to be logged in and wait for the 'hack' to start. It is on a 68sec loop (1:08 Wink )

Also, the email that was sent today is slightly different from the one that was found early. As noted before the alert has changed to "Good luck my old friend Hans" and there is no link to anything else (ie; youtube video).
And the body of the message has been edited to add the line

Apart from the leak of a sensitive internal communication there was also...
Now, that gave me a chuckle.

One more thing http://www.dharmawantsyou.com/site/emails/0809.php is now protected. I ran a few other dates through it and the rest returned 404s so, we may be getting another email soon...

The website still refuses to work for me - it hasn't in about a week.

When the Flash is loading, all I get is the starburst background and nothing else... is this me?

Snarky problem, theShaggy, and I've only heard of one player still unable to view DWY. They have a "64 bit browser"(their words). Good Luck.... Sad

Sorry if this trout. I have not been keeping up.

Email rec'd from hansvaneeghenSPLATdharmawantsyou.com

Quote:

ATTENTION ALL RECRUITS
RE: SECURITY BREACH AT COMIC-CON 2008

As many of you may be aware there have been a number of security breaches in recent days related to the nature of the Dharma Initiative's latest research.

Apart from the leak of a sensitive internal communication there was also the unauthorized release of confidential video documentation during a sponsored panel discussion with the makers of the TV show "LOST" at Comic-Con 2008 in San Diego. Consequently, the person responsible for this breach, a promising recruit by the name of Dan Bronson, has been expelled from the volunteer program and had his Dharma Initiative membership permanently revoked. Furthermore, the Dharma Initiative has withdrawn their sponsorship from "LOST".

The Dharma Initiative must stress that the video material leaked at Comic-Con 2008 was viewed entirely out of context. Furthermore, the way in which the material was presented utterly distorted its significance and credibility as scientific data.

The Dharma Initiative is extremely disappointed with this outcome and has ordered a security audit of all departments. As part of this audit the DharmaWantsYou recruiting website will undergo a security upgrade in the next few days.

Upon completion of this upgrade a date will be announced for the official commencement of Volunteer Assessments.

All recruits are reminded that the unauthorized release of confidential information pertaining to the details of your activities within the Dharma Initiative will result in instant dismissal from the volunteer program.

Namaste.
Hans Van Eeghen
Head of Recruiting
The Dharma Initiative

A trout indeed. We knew about the email two days before it was even supposed to come for us. =P

Oh, for the love of...

It worked earlier this week. I cannot believe that the company would make a flash game that won't work on 64-bit systems.

Yes indeed. I had just went back a couple of pages and did not see the email posted in its entirety so I thought I would post. I needed a little smack with the trout just to wake up I think. Coffee

I got nothing. What's up with that?

EDIT: I finally got mine at 12:50.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the source code of the email: Good luck my old friend Hans

The email came to me at 7:50am. Anyway, i tried to see if "Good luck my old friend Hans" is an anagram, but i can't find any combo that works. Perhaps we should email Hans Van Eeghen again?

So, is this email just a "Please wait" kind of a thing? Basically telling us that the games begin soon and reminding us about events at Comic-Con?

It seems like just a buying time sort of thing. Letting us know they haven't ditched us entirely. Still not familiar with the rules on what constitutes a "spoiler," but:

Not sure why the "good luck" message was repeated in a meta tag as an alert. I've never done this with comments before. Seemed a little odd to me (though I'm clueless as to what it would mean). Also note that if you click on the link from your email, it posts your e-mail address in the address bar- a way of tracking of which of us actually goes to this page for source code sniffing purposes? Maybe the game is that we will end up being "recruited" against Dharma by whoever is on the inside? Just a thought. Wink

EDIT: Removed spoiler tag. Sorry! Thought since I was referencing an earlier spoiler I might have needed it.
Embarassed

Indeed, although at first I thought it was a way to get past the username and password.
