[MISSIONS] Southern California labyrinth runners, Mark II
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Given that a grand total of three people have signed up for the San Diego labyrinth tomorrow, and that Noriko has backed out of attending (Are the two related? You decide!), the event is officially canceled. This topic is to determine the best way to set up one in the future.

If you live in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Riverside, San Bernardino, or any other county that you consider to be located in Southern California, please answer the following questions:

1) Are you interested in participating in a practice labyrinth?

2) If so, to what locations would you be willing to travel?

3) How much advance notice would you need?

4) Are there times that are generally better for you -- weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, evenings?

5) Are any future dates particularly good?

6) Are any future dates particularly bad?

Finally, if you know anyone else in the area who might be interested in attending but does not read this forum, please pass the word. HitsHerMark is making a similar post on Ariadne's in-game message board.

Oh, I almost forgot to include my own answers:

1) Yes.
2) Pretty much anywhere. I'm happy to carpool, too.
3) As much as possible -- generally at least a week.
4) Weekends are best.
5) Nope.
6) The last weekend in June, the first weekend in July, and the third weekend in July.

Cross-posted in Ariadne's forum.

1) Yes.
2) Pretty much anywhere. I'm happy to carpool, too.
3) As much as possible -- generally at least a week.
4) Weekends are best.
5) Nope.
6) Next weekend is bad. (Weekend of the 17th)

Southern California labyrinth runners, Mark III
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Larissa has expressed an interest in trying to get together for a labyrinth training session before she leaves for Beijing on August 17. Who's interested in joining us? If we can get enough people, we are tentatively thinking about this Friday, August 8, some time during the day (because I'm not available Friday evening, and sockiboo and spouse will be out of town Saturday and Sunday). That's certainly not set in stone, though, so if anyone else would prefer a different day or time, just speak up!

Edit: In fact, it's not even set in Jell-O:

Hope we can meet again. I won't be able to meet next weekend as we talked about something came up, but I'm up to any weekeday evening on the week before I leave. It would be great to meet somewhere and do a going away video in addition to the training.

So, might anyone be available any evening next week? I'm pretty open -- got tentative plans on Wednesday and Friday, but nothing I couldn't skip if either of those was most convenient for others.

Excellent! Welcome! HitsHerMark is in Orange County as well. Larissa has requested an evening session, so what time are you done with work?

Also, HHM can't make Thursday, so how does Monday or Tuesday look for anyone else who's interested?

(P.S. Thanks, unagi! Smile )

At this point I am strongly tempted to choose a day, time, and place unilaterally. If we met somewhere up in the Los Angeles area on, say, Monday evening, do you think you'd be able to get up here by 7:00 or 7:30?

Larissa has confirmed for Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. Location TBA shortly.

(And druzliah, I strongly recommend that you try to contact HitsHerMark to see about carpooling up from Orange County.)

Edit: Location: Hollywood & Highland Center
Conveniently located at the intersection of Hollywood Blvd. and N. Highland Ave.
(or at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard, for your MapQuesting needs)
We'll meet by the fountain on the first floor.
