google earth...

* note the three cities, use the path function and approximate the distance and angle (north = 0 degrees) then save as a path. Do the same for each city.
* zoom in where the three lines almost meet. noticed a city that was pretty much equidistant right in the middle of the line ends. jump to that city, use the lat/long, punch it in with the right format, and zing.

took a while to get to that point of course, figuring out the best way to find it... but why search out a complex mapper when an angle/distance triangulation can be done by hand? *shrug*

how did everyone else do it?

I tried that, but I couldn't seem to get a line from ipswich to anchorage. So someone posted what you found on the SHH forum and....you know..

Same thing here.

I tried using Google Earth. I guess I need more practice.

Sad
I never used Google Earth before... I downloaded it, installed it, get the cities as points, and then I just got lost with the options and didn't know how to do it... so frustrating... Sad
I tried, I did my best, but I just felt frustrated when I saw you already got it and I was still trying to do something with the tools :8
Oh well... another week I don't make it
Sad((((((( (really really sad)

Did you submit then the control number from the letter about the poem? Is that one?

Yeah, that was the number to submit.

P.S. I like your avatar. Nothing cuter than assassin kittens. Very Happy

So... Khaner's security clearance for SRPA must be of some significance. If not now, soon. Any speculation?

In ILB, none of the characters were part of Halo 2. This can be a complete side-story, filling in the world, but not directly incorporated into the game itself. It's much easier for the PMs do do that, rather than be constrained by the exact details of the game story.

Halo and Resistance are 2 different and, dare I say, competing game franchises. Check out your database for "Resistance: Fall of Man". Nathan Hale is the main character. Resistance 2 is the sequel.

I'm aware. I merely meant to say that we should not count on all of these characters being in the game; it is quite feasible that they will not be, or that the events of Project Abraham might not be directly referenced within the video game itself.

The ILB comparison was just an example of another video game ARG.

tunguska lore

congrats to the Bruce you deserved to be mentionned a third time in the AFAO newsletter!

Anyway, while looking up for possible hints i found that the background story seems pretty close to real life tunguska lore

seyelback, best part is solving it anyway, even if someone else already has. a few people got it pretty quick from what I could tell. i only posted in irc, but saw a couple people elsewhere with an answer. 'grats to sirpions!
goes to show, you never know what tools will be needed for any puzzle... part of the fun is figuring out how to solve a puzzle, before you even start solving it =P
anyway... lots of new stuff to digest now! (haven't even watched the injection video yet)

(and no - no third mention, I didn't submit the control number)

Yes... I know... Sad
Well, it was just the feeling that I never get it right... lol I always have some problem with the tools I use (probably the same as 80% of the people that tried to do it).
I was having a meal out and I run home to be able to be here to check the new update, bought internet for my mobile just in case I was late going back home, arrived 5 minutes before 8pm (UK time for the update), opened all the websites, started to look for the code (I watched the video ust 5 min ago, because I was doing all the other stuff), found the new puzzle to solve, downloaded Google Earth and felt I was ahead (lol)... and then I just got stuck there for half an hour... xD I downloaded 2 GPS tools... completely useless, and then I went back to GE... when I saw that most of you knew the answer and already submitted the code... argggh. I have been trying to do the map thing anyway... but I just don't know how to use the path things... lol
I'll try again next week!!!!! Very Happy
... ok, yes... I am a little bit obsessed with all this right now... but I am having so much fun!!!!! Very Happy

Anyway... does anyone know what it means the Russian letters at the bottom of one of the documents??? НАПЕУАТАНО В РОССИЯ ??? I know the last word means Russia, but no idea what the other two mean...

The video: iuch!!!! lol

Thanks for the support The_Bruce, in this dark times I need it... lol, nah, just felt SLOW and a little bit sad I didn't make it (again) on my own Sad (not to mention how late I submit the thing)

OK i've been biting my lip on this for a while, but here's a radical suggestion: how about we DON'T vote for Hale this week????

Its clear everyone is expecting it, its clear they are setting up the "progress" so as to potentially work on Hale, and its clear alot of people here are also voting for him - so lets throw a curveball and vote either Gennaro or Danby!

I'm posting this on UnFiction, SHH! and MyResistance. lets get this going!

Good luck. I'll vote Danby just to show my support!
