I took the distances, in pairs, and converted them to letters.

The largest value is around 2700 and the smallest is 0 (rounded to nearest 100).

The results are as follows:
EIHBCHEGAJBIDDQZRAAECBFAAAUdCB
M]gZJBA[FFOKDcRCUA]aLaFVKCj_ME]^ISCILFgPPIBjfKd]HLBRJGICC^QBAEECAAFGAGEGigAACA]B

in km (0 km = a). Too many outliers there.

CEEABECDAFAECCIOJAACBADAAALTBBH
PUOFBAODDIFCTJBLAPRGRDMGBWQHCPQ
EKBEGCVIIEBWUFTPEGAJFDEBBQJBACCBA
ADDADCDVUAABAPB

in nm.

CFEBBEDEAGAFCCKQKAADBADAAAMWB
BIRXQGBAQDDJGCVKBMARUHUDNGBZS
ICSSFLCFHDYKKFB[XGWRFHALGDFBBSK
BADCBAADEAECEZXAABASB

in statute miles. The later two both fit a frequency count fairly well, but don't seem to be an easy rotation code or anything. I am somewhat concerned about the triple that appears, but it could be a word break.

One other thing i noticed, if you look at the site itself, the pairs are grouped. The borders of the table have different markings (At least on ie and moz). The first group is ~26 (no markings) and the next several are word lengths.

Edit: Sorry the first group is only ~16. The markings are very faint in the first and last groups.

Has anyone tried gathering a listing of the elevation of each of the points and including those numbers in a graphing? essentially, we'd end up reducing the coordinate table to two columns, pairs of elevation numbers... or 2 columns of lat/long/elev coordinate sets...

Elevations

We (AnthraX101, Yanka, and I) retrieved elevations for the last set of coordinates from the National Elevation Database. We can do it again sometime soon using AnthraX's code, once it's clear that the points aren't going to change anymore ... it's kind of a hassle to keep redoing the data Smile . If someone wants to go ahead and do it manually using the form on that webpage or write their own code to automate it as we did, everything you need to know can be found by looking at the post I've linked above.

Uh, no, 255 (0b11111111). 256 is a 9-bit number.

Sorry it's a 8-bit number. 256 is represented by 00000000 in a byte where 0 isn't counted as a number. Such as the 256 color setting on your computer.

Simple mistake to make.. a Byte can range from 0-255 or 1-256. Most Rpg games use the 0-255 range for keeping track of various character stats. like attack, defense, magic power.. etc
