I don't think anyone has yet commented about (or at least summarized) the steady progression of dates on each new memo/journal entry/medical report that we receive.

The first memo, from Parker to Eliza Evans, was dated September 24th 1247. This discussed her promotion, and spoke of the Alva experimentation.

The next set of documents (received by mail, Angelus78), a medical report and a journal entry by Anara, were dated January 15th 1248. In these it is apparent that John has just suffered his accident, as they discuss his external wounds still healing.

Second set of documents, from the Pasadena package, are dated January 23rd 1248. Another journal entry and medical report, discussing the extent of John's brain injury and the possibility of recovery.

Third set of documents, from the Florida drop, are dated December 10th 1250. Another Anara journal entry and medical report. John's condition is deteriorating; still comatose, now developing brain lesions.

Fourth set, from the New York drop, are dated March 29th 1252. The journal entry and medical report show that John is still comatose, and the efforts to help him are becoming more desperate. In addition, there is a journal entry from "J", which is dated July 18th but states no year.

We also know that John has been in his coma for 10 years, which would make the current date sometime in 1258.

Now that I realize it, it's kind of amusing that they had ball-point pens in the thirteenth century...

Well, remember that this is an alternate reality. There was a catastrophic event in this universe, after which the calendar was reset to zero.... so this could be far in the future. Which still might raise the question of why they would be using something as ancient and outdated as ball point pens. Wink

They're also using magnetic swipe badges to get into TV studios, instead of biometric identification Wink

Of course, we don't know when the point of divergence is between our world and theirs, nor how badly "year zero" kicked them backwards.
