If I'm covering the Cleveland spots, mine will probably be the very first report you read. Cleveland is second on the list, and the drop is on the campus of Case Western Reserve University, which has a (more or less) campus-wide wireless network.

Well at least I'll know whether I should go to the site near me when the time comes Smile I hope they don't swear you to secrecy

Are we wrong to infer that these times are relevant next Tuesday?

Uh... like "let's count down until one day before the event?" Confused

Of course we're not wrong. The countdown on that page lists six days, 16 hours at present. That's next Tuesday morning. And of course it's relative to today - the previous countdowns in this game have ticked down to a specific time, at which something happened.

OOhhhkayyy... I hear you all... I'm just saying that we've been skeptical of everything in the name of good detective work before this puzzle, and I don't want to screw up this one, cuz we think it's nice and neat to have the locations be met on the date of the countdown... I'm still of the opinion that we should go there on the 24th, but I was just leaving room for discussion that could bolster other opinions... Sorry...

EDIT - As an update, we only have 7 people "claiming" locations for the 24th... please go there and "sign up" (of course you don't have to, but it sure makes sense to organize!)

I am going to drop by my location on the way home tonight. i have some time to kill, and i have a fair familiarity with the layout. I wont be able to be there when the axons go hot, but i can check today and next week for any physical evidence.

I'm not expecting anything too flashy, if anything at all, but it woudl not be that hard to have an employee of some subsidaary do some extra credit by planting something...

*edit* my location being the Ann Arbor MI one, that is...

The Pittsburgh locations are all at least 3 hours apart, and relatively close to each other. That means a single person could 'handle' all three, if that sort of thing were required.

If it's a bunch of Microsoft agents showing up to do something, why stagger all of the times 3-4 minutes apart? Several east-coast volunteers could all show up and do something (at the first of the locations in each area) at 9:10AM EDT.

Instead, it's completely serial. As in: "Each call should take 90 seconds, so first we'll call DC, then Cleveland, then..."

Whoa - and to think that I get flamed for being too meta! Wink

Shouldn't we find a way to explain this in game-terms before figuring out the PM's logistics?

The Sleeping Princess called these "roads" in her latest e-mail. The HTML source for each coordinate marks up each point as "transmit" (as noted here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=55244#55244).

The "serial"-ness of the times/points that sfsdfd refers to could be explained in "in-game" terms as something (or some entity, i.e. The Operator) being transmitted through these points at these times, like she's travelling down a road. (At least, that's one possible interpretation.) How does that reconcile with people being at these places at these specific times? What do we expect to see if, in-game, all that's happening is that data is being moved?

This could also be the times the roads are "completed", so we could expect to get some visual/audio clues as to the presence of the Queen...

(also, I would expect MAJOR communication by the Princess soon, since the castle will be abandoned on that day... I mean, the queen and the flea are the only ones digging these roads, and they can't be everywhere all the time, right?)

[TANGENTIALLY OT] Has anyone ever asked the Princess what we should call her? Her name? I mean the Queen is Melissa/Operator... but one would assume that the Princess would have a "real life" name too, right? Anyway, maybe that should be in another thread...please ignore if so...

I was just wondering why this happened today? Because the 24th is in exactly 1 week? Any ideas based on the story line? Or is it just random?

So what has changed?

I've heard:

1) addition of times
2) more precise coordinates
3) Sears Tower location missing/moved
4) Texas is now represented
5) There's another water location
6) HTML Formatting changed

anything else?

OK - lemme ask this then.

Is there any IG reason to assume something physical would occur at these locations?

Dorkmaster, I give you the oh-so-gentlest of trouts... the question of the literal name for The Sleeping Princess and The Pious Flea has been raised on the Wiki for some time, but it is worth repeating since the answers are probably very illuminating.

There's only 210 points now instead of 220.

I'd recommend going to the Princess/Queen Age thread and trying to disprove my idea that they have the same literal name Wink

Ugh... unfortunately the only reason I could imagine something physically happening at these sites would not really be "in game" as opposed to "end game" i.e. a bunch of guys in bee costumes handing out halo t-shirts and patting us on the back "good game". I seriously hope this marks the BEGINNING of the game as opposed to the end.

So if the game is just beginning I can't really see anything physical happening that would make sense with the plot... unless... melissa says she is building a new body... maybe... she is piecing together some makeshift robots... who will all emerge... and reveal melissa's ultimate goal: to GET DOWN!!!
