Apparently because it's a wav, it's already mixed and can't be split. Suggestions from this end have been to reduce treble and bass to nothing. I'm gonna try it.

Well that answers being able to split it. lol

That was just what my housemate said. I know nothing about it.

BTW, as I said, I tried adjusting bass and treble and didn't get anything. Feel free to mess around with it, anyone. I'm clueless.

About 1/4th in and then again at 1/2 theres a mutter that doesn't match with the song. Listen close though, I missed it a few times at first.

How could you split the sounds so that you could hear them separately? Is there a program to do that? Or is that reserved for James Bond and the CSI guys?

Actually certain types of sound files are different streams playing at once, or something like that, so they can be split. Apparently wav's can't.

So in other words... unless someone has awsome hearing... we're going to have no clue?

Well obviously the PM wasn't stupid enough to make the clue unusable. We'll just have to have the audio experts who wake up in the morning look through it.

Not to whine, but why would that happen?

When you have a question that vague, it's best to quote who you're responding to.

Sorry. What I meant to ask is why there isn't a way to differentiate the two tracks? Why are we being left without a clue?

I'm sure there's SOME way. I'm too tired, however, to be of any use to y'all in this audio hunt. Night guys =P R.I.P.

There's a way. We just don't know it yet. Smile But someone's got the knowledge we lack.

More contact, baybee!

Highlights:

- I'm annoying. (Score!)
- This person refused to give me info until I out-stubborned him.
- There's a secret organization.
- The public is stupid twice over.
- Dr. Zachary Reckit, a Brazilian entymologist, is missing, according to the article I was emailed.
- According to this contact, Zach is actually hiding.
- I am a threat, apparently.
- He said he can't be trusted, he's metaphorically dead.
- Apparently he's been watching the forums.
- Not sure why they chose me, but apparently I was supposed to be a "disposable PI"

Orville (my nickname for blinkdont) did something to the wav file, split it into left and right. If you turn the balance all to the left, it's a male voice saying the following:

Quote:
The telltale heart (bard?), None of one, seven of two, 12 of 3, 48 of 4, 5 of 5, 13 of 6, none of 7, 2nd of 9, 7 of 12, 3 of 14, 1st of 15th and 4th to last of 16th, 5th in 17th, and 5th again in 18th, 20 holds it in 29, 9 in 21, 7 in 23, 13 in 24, 14 is the last in 25

Uploading both the chat and the wav. If anyone finds anything I missed in the chatlog, feel free to mention it... I'm not good at summarizing.

Kitrona you rock! An orange Italian scooter ha ha ha ha ha!

Ok well the telltale heart bard would be Poe.

I was thinking that the numbers corresponded to letters that we'd have to unscramble (none of A, 7 of B, 12 of C, 48 of D) until I came to the 48 'D's. Unless the clue stutters it's got to be something else.

He didn't do anything. Wav files are played through both sides of a pair of speakers, with seperate channels for each one. When you turn off one side, both sides are in 1 speaker. However, when you simply turn off the parts playing in one side, you hear only the other side (confusing, no? And I'm probably confusing this with mp3 files, I'm not quite sure).

Otherwise, good job. ( don't have anything else to add, lol)

I can't really tell what that means, but what about that first line "none of one". That doesn't sound like a number, it sounds like a quantity. And what does it decode?

EDIT: Observations and Questions:
The article mentions a team (As well as the now obvious bugman) does this mean there's more than one person here?
What the heck does "metaphorically dead" mean?
Does the song have any signifigance ?
Is the eagle really threatened? (or real period)

Sorry Its just things that occured to me, but I didn't have the chance to write it all out. Very Happy
