[Extended Exp] Gemini 360 AR from NBC for their webseries "Gemini Division" www.geminidivision.com
Gemini Division is a dark sci-fi web-series by NBC starring Rosario Dawson that starts tomorrow. The show will consist of 50 6-7 minute episodes.
Here's a write-up from IMDB about the series' plot; semi-spoiler since I know that most of this doesn't happen in the first two episodes which were already screened to some people:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Gemini Division features NYPD undercover Detective Anna Diaz as a street wise and tough-as-nails New York cop forced to live dual lives. Diaz's deep undercover persona drives her to keep people at a distance as a blown cover would mean death. Enter Nick Korda: After secreting herself away for so long, Diaz sees Korda as almost too good to be true. Anna finds a security in Nick she didn't believe possible, allowing her to lower her defenses and be herself. Though she has questions about Nick's life, after only a few months the couple travels to romantic Paris and get engaged. But, before her questions and his proposal are answered, Nick is murdered. Diaz vows to bring his murderers to justice and in doing so discovers the truth about Korda and a vast global conspiracy. Black bag genetic experiments, covert military operations, a mysterious organization called Gemini Division, and simulated humanoid life forms. Detective Anna Diaz will have to draw upon all her experience to find the truth and survive.
And another more specific synopsis, that really tells what the series is going to revolve around. (Very spoilerific, imho)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Set in the not too distant future, "Gemini Division" follows NYPD vice cop Anna Diaz (Rosario Dawson) who, while searching for the truth behind her fiancée's murder, is drawn into a secret war between a race of artificial life forms know as SIMs and the covert agency charged with hunting them down.
The series will be accompanied by an AR / Extended Experience in the vein of Heroes 360. Signup can be done at: http://www.geminidivision.com/signup.shtml
There is also a great article by someone who actually did screen the episodes and had a chance to chat with the creator. There some mild spoilers but with no context to really understand what they mean until we've seen the episodes ourselves. Towards the bottom there's also a small bit of information about the ARG and a timetable for it.

Quote:
Considerable discussion about the ARG [alternate reality game] followed and while no hints were provided we all understood that Gemini Division will provide a truly immersive experience to those who want to participate. Friedman also advised that, much like the main character Anna, participants of the ARG will have to 'choose a side' and that once chosen the alternate storyline of the ARG is closed to them. When asked about the comparison between the ARG of Afterworld and Gemini Division, Brent replied that the G-D ARG is much more involved and integrated to the show.
Based on the preview, which will be available to the general public next Monday as episode one airs, I know that I'll be waiting to watch. The release schedule for Gemini Division is:
First Week:
MON (Episode 1); TUE (Episode 2);
WED-FRI Extra content.
Second Week:
MON (Episode 3); TUE (Episode 4);
WED-THU Extra content
Friday the start of the ARG.
Third week:
MON (Episode 5); TUE (Episode 6);
WED (Episode 7); THU (Episode 8);
Friday (Advance of ARG);
Fourth week and on:
Same as the third week. Each Friday sees an advance of the ARG.
According to that, the ARG will begin Friday the 29th.

Imdb rules. Sounds interesting. I'm a sucker for Sci-fi, so I'm in if this is as good as it seems (which it never is, but meh).

I wonder why you would side with a bunch of clones, or whatever. Seems like asking for replacement to me.
Guess that means I've already chosen a side.

Simulated human lifeforms (probably something along the lines of an android) not clones. And depending on how the writers swing it, they may be the victims in this. Like in Blade Runner; the robots weren't really bad, but we just had to hunt them anyway.

Well that's because the "regulars" were basically Nazis towards the androids.

Simulated life makes you think clones? It should make you think AI, robots, I,robot, Robot Invasion, death by robots, etc.

AI is Artificial intelligence . Simulated Life seems to bring to mind fake people a.e. clones. Robots are people-ish, but they have differentiating features.

Well then how about terraforming, or bioscopes, or whatever they're called, those fake environment things?

Well, they're simulated, and they....are life, as they're like plants.
Don't get technical with me. I was being generic.
