I was going to say wasn't IloveBees an ARG for HALO or something?

Yes indeed it was. I am not sure if this is in anyway related to Bungee (I THINK they did ILB/Halo Related ARGs?) But it was the first thing that popped into my head when reading Rotation's post lol

I too picked up a card in a restroom, though I only saw the one.

Seems a bit far-fetched for Bungee to start creating open-source forum software in 2002 for a 2008 advertisement--and it might be a bit too obvious.

I'd bet it's one of the companies with a booth at GenCon, as their employees would really be in the best position to distribute the cards.

I wasn't saying I love bees, I was just saying it was weird.

I did see that. It appears to be nothing more than spacers, at the moment (since the styles applied to that text is identified as simply "bumper".) It doesn't readily appear to be any particular characters. i mean, it is something, but nothing which seems to read as anything. Looking at it under a microscope and a hex editor, yaknow. I somewhat anticipate it's probably where redesigned elements will go when the site is evolved. Or .... not.

That's what I guessed, but I just wanted to make sure, lol.

Chances are the Bee thing is irrelated IMO...but it would be cool if this was the start of a new Halo ARG XD

That would be cool Very Happy

But I doubt it. Behive looks like the name of the software they're using for the forum.

If it was ILB2 the launch would be a lot bigger and probably even target some of the players of the first one. ILB2 would be a HUGE deal and everyone would know about it.

That being said, this could still be very interesting. I love a game that has the balls to distribute their trailhead to random strangers who may or may not know what an ARG is. Also, they have a countdown on their website. We love countdowns!

So which companies at GenCon had licensed Halo products?

Wizkids does the Heroclix miniatures game right? Are there other companies working with the Halo brand?

Seems fairly obvious that the Jinteki ARG isn't directly connected to Bungie. (assuming that it even has anything to do with the Halo universe at all)

Look, ah, I think we can safely put the likelihood of this actually being a halo arg at somewhere around three percent, and the likelihood of it being an *official* (as in sponsored by Bungie) halo arg at somewhere around one thousandth of one percent. It's not utterly impossible, but ridiculously unlikely.

mind you, we don't know who or what it actually *is* fFor. I'm thinking possibly something with some sort of anime tie-in possibly, but really that's a stab in the dark.

I think we won't really know more until next wednesday. Mark your calendars!

The Site is Up!!

The Jinteki Site http://jintekicorp.com/Jinteki_Corp/Jinteki_Corp.html is updated with a Mission Statement, Catalog (empty so far), About Us, and Contact Us.

Interesting line from the About Us section
Quote:
Jinteki Corporation headquarters are located in beautiful New Angeles, home of the celebrated Beanstalk. Branch offices and research and development laboratories are located in Osaka, Japan and Noctis Labyrinth on Mars.
