[BLOG] Alex's post - Goodbye, Eli
And Eli Hunt's last podcast

http://www.findthelostring.com/ariadne/detail.do?postId=1817

Quote:
Eli and I came to an agreement. It might shock some of you. Me, I'm just proud of Eli. And excited for him too.

So I'm blogging this, and then we're both leaving for the airport together. It will be really hard to say goodbye. Without Eli, I might still be sitting in a hostel in South Africa waiting for my family to find me.

Well, you guys found me, and you're my family now. That's why I'm staying.

I hope wherever he wakes up, Eli finds a family too.

But just to be safe, we're tattooing him with the omphaputer URL.

He has one final mission for you guys. I hope you're up to the challenge. And then he has a final message goodbye.

From Eli himself:

Quote:
If all goes well next Sunday during the closing ceremonies, then I will need your help one more time. I need you to take over for me. To become the historian of the lost ring.

If our plan works, my voice will no longer be the official voice of the legend. Yours will. I need you to tell our history.

Perhaps some of you are willing to try your hand as a historian of lost secrets. We need a video to show others the history of our journey together, so that future agonothetai will know everything we've accomplished. If you can make such a video, then I will be truly grateful.

Sincerely yours,

Eli Hunt

Here's Eli's last podcast.

Damn. I'm all teared up as I listen to it.

Love you, Eli.

The video should be interesting... I think I'll try my hand at one tomorrow. How about y'all?

Could the video be the DVD Bookmore was talking about before ? (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=26325)

I believe Eli has another video in mind, but it could definitely be integrated into the DVD. And I'd love to try my hand at it - good training for the DVD as well.

As if I wasn't busy enough already Wink

eli secret message

So, hitting fullscreen, there may be a hidden code on Eli's video

http://www.dotsub.com/view/99f905bb-4384-4de5-87ca-072cef3ad9f8

particularly around the words "The Story of The Lost Ring", pulsing shadows. Morse perhaps? Or just a video encoding artefact?

You may have already noticed a bit of static and occasional scan lines, but these other things require a bit closer look.

Now that Eli is parting company, it may be a perfect opportunity to send a message out to whoever.

My notebook always seems to get a hiccup when I'm trying to watch the video in full-screen mode. The few seconds I get to see don't seems to show a rhythmical pattern suggesting a morse code, though. Have you tried to "transcribe" it somehow?

The red marks are where I saw pulses. I counted sets of sixteen pulses in between the jagged diagonal lines.

<a>Eli's Podcast Pulses

Here is a larger size.

*waits for all you smarty pants to figure this out*

Goddammit...
I almost started crying as I watched, and he's not even a real person Laughing

I wonder how it'll work out, that the five (er, six-- five and a half?) will be going without their Dikaiosune. Even though I'm sure Eli definitely has some Dikai in him Razz

I may or may not make a video, depending on how tired i am when I get back home myself....
