the mass of message to begin with has been indecipherable although the final part was figured out using a qwerty over dvorak key to reveal.

Indeed. (Mainly posted this to get it in my reportoire of the View Your Posts link)
This may be obvious, but shouldn't we try the qwerty over dvorak thing again for the rest?

Qwerty over dvorak doesn't work for the rest of it.

Right. But then again, I'd expect you all to have done that already, so like i said, my post was pretty much pointless except for adding it to my View Your Posts thing.

So qwerty over Dvorak means use a Dvorak keyboard and type as if it's qwerty? Cool. Is there some utility somewhere to do this or do I have to actually configure a keyboard for Dvorak (and since I don't touch type that pretty much lets me out anyway..). If someone has made the conversion could you post it please? That might get us something we can decode... Probably doesn't matter since we have the blog, but what the heck.

I posted a comment to the blog as well.
Regarding the email... I can't figure out the bulk of it.
The key is in there, methinks.
his email is "iamlost@helpme.com
i no rlbx...
I am lost...
The thing is, I'm working from there, and not finding anything useful. :/ it makes more gibberish.
Code:

(Sweet tool, amandel!)
It may not be a cryptogram then. What methods have y'all tried so far? I tried ROT and a few Vigenere, nothing.
Anybody try destegging those blog pics?
EDIT: Yeah, if it's a cryptogram you've got four different one-letter words. Probably something else then.

Vigenere to produce "I am lost" begins ANCGXJE
Rotating ROT begins 0 13 24 20 3 17 22 15 7 17 24 16
I dunno

Thanks amandel. That one goes right into the tool box. Looks like the first text is more "meaningful." All those punctuations turn it into garbage as near as I can tell. I've tried ROT, Vigenere, Vig autokey, fialka machine , and a couple others... I know someone tried atbash as well, and maybe Vigenere after atbash. In other words,
But... So the blog seems to put Leon in an alternate universe / timeline. We'll ignore the 'my laptop works anyway' bit because, you know, it's necessary for the game.

Gah, I suck at these. What site do y'all recommend for reverse-solving Vigenere?

Rumkin is probably the best cipher tools site...
http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/
I put it through the Vigenére guesser here , but got a new brand of gibberish, which means it couldn't make sense of it, and that tool is frequently pretty good.

That leads me to believe it either isn't vigenere or that if it is some further manipulation needs to happen to it first. Or something. Or it's just gibberish and the URL was all we were supposed to get.
Just for completeness, the atbash / vigenere non-solve starts 'jmzxag'

I tried Vignere keys up to 15 characters starting with "ANCGXJE" Everything looked like gibberish.
If anyone can find a word with the word pattern 8-12345652 (for OSRNTETS), that would probably help out a lot. So far, I haven't had any luck.
I don't think that the message uses any kind of consistent substitution cypher. The only words I can think of that are one letter and start sentences are "A" and "I". (And possibly "O".) I'm starting to think that every sentence uses a different encryption.

I think the 'every line different' has some merit because of the way the URL was different. I've just been assuming it isn't substitution because of the four single letters, but it may be that one (or more) of the lines is... Hmmmmm
ETA: Sent OSRNTETS through the crypto solve at rumkin and got:
GROVELER
HESITATE
KARENINA
LEVITATE
MEDITATE
PATRICIA
SARDINIA
SOMBRERO
SRINAGAR
TRAVELER
TRICOLOR
Crypto solver doesn't like any of the individual lines, so it probably isn't a substitution cipher. ETA2: Kind of makes the above moot as well

So I've been looking at the code. I havent managed to crack it yet, but looking at it I was thinking.. if the first part is "I am lost" like some think maybe the first line is "I am lost. I need some help."
Just putting that out there to see if that helps anyone.
