Nice Leyton, at least we're using all sources apparent to us that way.

Additionally, I took another look at the Blowfish code from the config.txt page;

Quote:
SERVER LOCAL STATS:
74.208.29.147

USER ACCOUNT : AdamW
PASSWORD : *******

START ENCODED MESSAGE |
C77FFED7055B474B600DBDA3588072F1
00676CD2518C912DD27A5742BFED7C3E
3013BFEDD5F290C483E225A68091BE6D
F2800DF5618DE75B
| END

(DECODED: 27° 9′ 0″ S, 109° 25′ 30″ W - Easter Island)

Easter Island isn't related to any of the three locks solved already and therefore likely has a different function. My own guess is that it hints towards the PASSWORD mentioned in the config.txt: seven-digits again. In that case; Rapa Nui would be an obvious option.

Leyton and Gregory already discovered at an earlier time that the IP 74.208.29.147 can be an ftp://. Thus, the username and password may have to be inserted there. However, it may as well be that they have to be used at a later time in game...

Nevertheless, seems worth looking into.

On another note; since I enjoy organisation I decided to put all coordinates and valid places we encountered thus far in one single map. Doesn't truly have a function, but does give a nice overview: see attachment.

Edit: I also discovered that there is a Rapanui rock at the coast of N.Z. Here's the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapanui_Rock --- assumed it might relate.

Hi drejl, I hope you don't mind but I have created a shared Google map of the areas of interest and added all the islands found in the Campbell Plateau as that is where the artifact was found. Hopefully you should see it if you follow this link

I don't mind serving as an inspiration for something more functional. ^_~
Thus, I shall wave pom-poms and shout 'go team'... Okay, maybe not the pom-poms...

That reminds me of something that happened on IRC, when we were trying to encourage theBruce to do the puzzle to get the DCN.

Nice work peoples... I'm so out of my league on finding these things right now it's unbelievable.

Is there a way to check a whois by creator?

IE: Searching for Beaxtrix Gray as opposed to searching a site?

And... If you search google will you always get the same result as searching Yahoo for instance? Do they scour for meta tags in the same way?

That's called Peoplesearch. I believe it costs in excess of 100 dollars, and it doesn't work for fictional characters.

lol yeah but if they registered a site under the name it could possibly find it.

Anyway I've refocused the entire letter into one big thing just incase anyone wants to maybe scour over it again?

Quote:
April:

Everything started when Adam received an antique stone from New Zealand.
The latter had been recovered on the plateau Campbell in the old continent submerged tasmantis! Adam was very excited about this discovery.

Just two days later, I crossed Adam at the university, he was out of him.
he was angry against his colleague from New Zealand who had sent the fraud which included anachronisms that even a first grade student would have been able to detect!
I did not have any detail, but I understand that he was refering to runic inscriptions which, by their attendance, eliminated any possibility that this stone dating back to the Paleolithic age (3 million years to 12 000 years before Jesus Christ).
Worse! he had already sent a sample to test the carbon 14 dating , the results would make him the laughing stock of the university for at least the next session.
Thereafter, no news.

May:

i saw Adam a month later ... and he was no longer the same. His face was stretched,he was pale, he had taken almost 10 years,
he was no longer angry against his colleague from new zealand, quite the contrary! To my surprise he was planning to join him soon
to supervise itself the site of excavation.
However archaeology was the only thing recognizable from Adam because everything else had changed!
And this mania to speak in hushed tones, come if he was afraid that someone is listening. He became unrecognizable.

June:

In June that I had once news of Adam, this time through Mike, a friend of mine who studies in Computer Engineering.
He mentioned that Adam made him an encrypted message to me. In fact, Mike was the last to see Adam alive.
Thereafter things have rapidly deteriorated.
The university announced the disappearance of Adam, search in vain were made by the police.
We later learned that Adam had left the country and that the investigation was in the hands of international authorities.

July:

In July I received an anonymous letter.

The latter contained two parts: A memo written by Adam and a photo annotated by the latter.
Before i even have time to understand this strange communication with Adam, less than a day later it was Mike turn to contact me.
A telephone call of the strangest ...

Mike was terrified. I mentioned that it was pursued and that all were related to the note that Adam had been encrypted in June.
The latter was so desperate and worried
he paid me a the ticket to london and ensuring that it was a matter of life and death.

I arrived in London on July 30 and I met Mike the same day.
he gave me a rendez-vous in a small apartment on Baker Street, near Park Road.
together we tried to decipher the notes that Adam gave me, but in vain.
we then agreed to meet again the next day and continue our efforts.
Mike was nevertheless confident that his life was in danger.

In case of problems, we had to join Craig List.

The next day, no news of mike and no message on Craig List.
This meeting gave me goosebump, mike was really terrified and if Adam had made use of encryption to communicate with me, there was definitely something serious.

I did not feel safe, it appeared to me far too dangerous to continue in London, so I sent a message on Craig List, taking precautions as you know, and I took the flight British Airways 15 for Sydney.

August:

Since my arrival in Sydney, my first priority was to find a WiFi access. I had not been answered by Mike, but two Internet. (JL-RED Nive and clothing) m'on offered their aid. In fact, for several others and ultimately help m'on, August 3, we finally decoded the message of Adam.

Today 17 August the breakdown on the site www.polycystin.com is finally completed and an even greater enigma opens for me. I think I have found a track here in Australia. I have regained contact with what I believe to be the contact Adam New Zéalande. I leave for probably two weeks, the time to shop around different tracks that I have found. As soon as I know, I'll come into contact with you.

You have done a lot for me till now, however, if you want to help me, trying to solve these 3 riddles at www.polycystin.com which probably conceals other vital information left by Adam.

Search engines don't seem to work identically in order of relevance... Livesearch seems to be extremely broad (personal experience) while Altavista appears to be the opposite...

Either way; they seem different... So far no luck on finding B.G.'s site though..

Nice!

last post on there.

Quote:
extracted from flowers of evil
Beauty
I am beautiful, oh fatal!
like a dream stone,
And my breast, where everyone was bruised in turn, East is to inspire a love poet
LORD and silent as the subject.
I throne in the blue as a sphinx misunderstood;
J'unis a heart of the snow-white swans;
I hate the movement which moves lines,
And I never did cry and I would never laugh.
The poets, to my great attitudes,
What I look to borrow the most proud monuments,
Consumeront their days in austere studies;
Because I have to fascinate these docile lovers,
Pure mirrors that make all things more beautiful:
My eyes, my eyes wide to clartés eternal!

Previous one.

Quote:
The Portrait of Dorian Gray
An artist is a creator of beautiful things.

Reveal Art hiding the artist, this is the aim of Art. The critic is one who can bring in another manner or new processes with the impression that left him with beautiful things. The autobiography is both the highest and lowest forms of criticism.

Those who find ugly intentions beautiful things are corrupt without being attractive. And this is a fault. Those who are good intentions in beautiful things are grown. It remains to them hope. They are elected for that beautiful things mean simply Beauty. A book is not moral or immoral. It is good or bad writing.

That's all.

The disdain of the nineteenth century to the realism is just like the rage of Caliban seeing his face in a mirror. The disdain of the nineteenth century Romantic is similar to the rage of Caliban n'apercevant not his face in a mirror.

The moral life of man is a part of the topic of the artist, but the morality of art is the perfect use of an imperfect medium.

The artist wants to prove anything. Even things can be proved true. The artist has no ethical sympathies. A moral sympathy in an artist brings an unforgivable Mannerist style. The artist is never caught unprepared. It can express anything. For the artist, thought and language are the tools of an art.

The vice and virtue are the materials. In point of view of form, type of all the arts is music. At the viewpoint of sensation, it is the job of an actor. All art is at once surface and symbol.

Those looking beneath the surface do so at their peril. They also trying to enter the symbol.

It is the spectator and not life, that art reflects reality. The diversity of opinion on a work of art show that this work is new, complex and viable. While critics differ, the artist is in accord with himself.

We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire. The only excuse for making a useless thing is to admire intensely. The art is quite useless.

Peladan I do believe to be an actual person and the ebay site to be OOG though... I think this is just pushing us to some history.

I've also sent another msg to BG.

Quote:
Beatrix, we've found your blog/site and must say wonderful stuff on there... But you say not to go near polycystin.com - Although *you* were specifically mentioned as to be the person to ask in regards to Khnopff.

Do you by any chance know of someone named Adam who was a tutor at the University of Montreal? What is his last name and where can he be found? Please, if you know this info get back to me as soon as possible -L.S
