This is the first time I've actually been able to fully log onto the site and get the test working. My highest is a 76, but only using the laptop without a mouse/tablet. I figure I'll break that out in a bit and raise the score.

Really, though, what's the point of cheating on a game like this? Who cares if your score is over 9000.

Just back on the ID cards I have an idea- remeber when there were apollo candy events with free bars during the last TLE, well people comlained that non-players were getting them meaning that there were not enougth for players, so maybe there may be a live event or give away where you have to present the card, that way only palyers will get the stuff

Looking at that, I can't help but think that this "cheat" was intentional.

Perhaps these are the type of people Dharma wants? People that will use unorthodox, arguably cheating methods and use all available resources to achieve extraordinary results?

Wait, I don't know if I'm stupid or missed something...
but if you score one point for every second left on the clock when you finish...and there's a hundred seconds on the clock....how can you score a 900?

Oh...a hack. Well...not sure about that one but I just used the cheat published at Lostpedia blog. I agree with them. That cheat seems to me to be honestly in game as well.

I had a theory on how it could have been possible: it depends on how they calculate start and end times. If they take two times, when you start and current time, it's conceivable that you can change your system clock mid-game and make the calculation fall to negative values.

Of course, I tried that now and it doesn't work, so I can't be sure if that was the original method or not.

No offence and it's redundant to argue this at all but. Sorry, to me that isn't proof.

That could easily have been photoshopped. And I emphasize the easily.

Give me a little while as I'm a bit busy doing more important things but I'll make one where I scored over 2000 Smile

Well, this is the problem. I went and picked apart the code 'cuz I just couldn't stand it last night after Dark UFO pulled the cheat, and I can confirm there is a cheat actually built in to it. No kidding. It's a very plain, right there in your face parameter. It tells you in the code how to stop the clock. You can freeze time. I have tried this out on the test (not logged in) and it works. However, you end up with a couple of seconds lag time, so your score is usually somewhere in the 98-95 range.

However, I cannot figure out how they are getting 900 points. I suspect the cheat code is intentional....that is, to freeze time and get close to 100 points. However, I don't think that whatever they are doing to get 900 was a part of Hoodlum's plan. I don't see a parameter that allows you to do more than one game will using this "freezing time" feature.

Why do I think they intended us to find it? The parameter is very blatant. It isn't hard to find, either...if you can figure out how to view the source code to get the metas, you can probably figure this out. And all the script that leads up to seeing that parameter have "allow access" tags.

So now I am torn. I know how to stop time. Do I do it? Is that what Dharma is looking for? Isn't that the ENTIRE conundrum this story line is based on?????

PS: If you don't believe me I will tell you how to do it.

EDIT: UPDATE--ok, I am not the only one who knows about this now. There are several versions of what I did published...so far no one is using the exact method, but some have taken it a step or two beyond. And I see that I misunderstood the parameter and used it's number as the secondary key, but apparently using other numbers with it has different results. So this may be how they are getting over 100 as a score. I will play with it and report back.

EDIT: REPORTING BACK--well, using different numbers has either no effect or the same effect for me....so I still don't know how they are getting 900.

Right I keep getting situations where there are a few bits left and none of them look like they will fit but if I drag one and drop it in it counts it as finished, despite the fact that the pecie may be larger or a different shape to the hole I had? Confused

Perhaps it's not a test of spacial recognition, but a test of morality? Make the cheat obvious to find, and see who uses it? Then again didn't they say on the progress board something about breaking us up into groups? Perhaps those who use the cheat will be in one group and those who don't the other?

I agree with Sassy. The paramater in the source code IS very blatant. I don't know about the clock hacks, but even by looking at the name of the test combined with the parameter she mentioned... its definitely IG.

I tried Sassy's cheat and it works. Very Happy I was able to get 96 (my best score without the cheat is 81). I wasn't logged in but I am going to go ahead and log in and do it again.

I have 2 accounts so I can cheat with one account and be honest with the other account in order to see if the 2 accounts are treated differently by the PMs.
