I doubt it, this seems pretty grassroots to me. But we don't know much so far, so you never know. If she starts spouting off companies, then I'll have to take my leave. Sad

Any thoughts on 'Old Cordoba'? Considering SAM-1, looks like it probably refers for Cordoba in Argentina. Might be worth following up.

OK, replied:

Glad you replied!

Let's see, where to start?
I don't work at the UN, and I'm not "important" as far as the world is concerned, but there are definitely people who consider me pretty important. I do get to boss people around a bit, but I'm not too bossy. I can't take myself seriously enough to have other people take me seriously.
Ares was worshipped in Greece, which is East of Italy (probably EU2, but I don't remember exactly where Greece is, so I couldn't tell you for sure). As far as I'm concerned, religion can serve a purpose, but it can also cause a lot of problems. I don't think anyone should be able to outlaw any form of ideas though.
An operating system is the main interface you're using to use the computer. I'm not sure if you'll be able to tell what it is or not, it's ok if you can't. I just get curious sometimes.
You mentioned Old Cordoba. Is that in Argentina or Colombia? Maybe you don't use the same names, we tend to keep some traditions around here (for better or worse).
I just checked the website, and I get the same message as you, it was taken down. I guess it's been a while since I played any games. Work will do that to you.
I'd love to share some work with you. I'll have to go through my folders and find something that isn't too embarrassing, and then I'll send it over. In the meantime, you can send me anything you want. I have tons of hard drive space. Very Happy

-Nate

I'm trying to play along in her world. I didn't really fish for information this time, but I have a feeling she'll find some to give me anyway.

She's 8, she'll respond better if you take interest in her, not the world around her. Believe me, she'll tell you all of that anyway. Very Happy (Sorry, I worked with children all summer. @_@)

Just got a response:

Quote:

Hi Jacob!

You heard correctly! I'm amazed that so many people have responded, but certainly excited and happy to meet all of my new friends!

You're the third person I've met who lives in London! I wonder if Anii does too - she's the first person I met. She said she lived somewhere that looked like a mitten. Do you think EU-1 looks like a mitten? I've never really looked at it long enough to ask myself that question (not that it's a common question anyways - ha ha!)

I like to write stories, about beautiful princesses and that sort of thing. I know it's a little silly (I'm almost nine years old!) but I've always wanted to live in a beautiful house where everyone calls me Princess Gracey. I don't know about my true love though - not sure if I want to tie myself down just yet. I mean, boys are fun to wrestle with and foot-race (even though I always beat them) but I don't know if I want them to hold my hand or anything! Maybe I'll just live with a bunch of my friends when I grow up!

I would love to send you a story or two! I don't think my mommy's digiscribe works with this laptop - something about a different code or something? Maybe I can find the code on the internet, but until then maybe I can take a raincheck, and send it to you when I can?

- Gracey

PS: Do you know Anii? If so, please ask her if EU-1 looks like a mitten.

And replied:

Quote:

Dear Princess Gracey,

It was nice to hear from you so soon and it's good to know you have some other in friends from London - we don't have a big reputation for being friendly! I don't think EU-1 looks like a mitten, but I must admit I had not thought about until now either! I think Anii is talking about Michigan - people sometimes call it the 'Mitten State' but it's a long way from me. Almost as far as you I think! Have you heard of Michigan? Maybe you have another word for that area.
I don't think it's silly to want a beautiful house, lots of grown ups have the same dream! What kind of house do you live in at the moment?
I'm not sure what you mean by your Digiscribe. Maybe we don't have them yet in EU-1. I'm sure you can find your code on the internet, there's lots of useful stuff and interesting people on here!

Hmmm:

Quote:
I will tell you whatever you want, but only if you tell me what I want to know! Ha ha, it will be like a game of truth or dare, except without dares because those are always gross, especially when icky boys are playing and they dare you to eat bugs!

My mommy writes stories and stuff for some people, I don't know who they are. She says she doesn't want to tell me who she writes for because it's grown up stuff. I think I'm old enough to know, but she says no. Anyways, she types them out on her digiscribe and sends them off to somewhere south of here, and every Tuesday we get 100 credits per story! I think that whoever is paying Mommy is getting ripped off though. Mommy is a good writer, but I know she doesn't try hard on the stories. She says her heart isn't in it. I don't understand what she means by that. Come to think of it, there are lots of things she says that I don't understand! Ha ha!

Some days Mommy gets a video-phone call and on those days she has to work. But other days she likes to come outside with me. Sometimes I take her to the less secret places that I like to explore and we explore together, and sometimes even Pudge comes with us. But the super secret adventure places are only for me! Mommy tried to get me to tell her where I was going once, but I think she gave up. It's okay though because she knows I'm tough! I can take care of myself! Ha ha!

I never got to meet my daddy, but my mommy really loved him. There is a picture of him on her desk and sometimes I like to sit on the floor and look at him. My mommy says I look so much like him, and I think she's a little jealous that I don't look more like her. I kind of agree with her, too - who wants to look like a boy? Ha ha! Mommy says that my daddy was a PMC tech, and that he designed and invented all sorts of new and useful technology. That's how he went to Dream, he got shot from way far away while he was working. Mommy says that daddy and people like him are the real heroes, not the people who lead the PMCs and the UN, but I don't much care for that stuff. My daddy sure was cool though! I wish I had gotten to meet him and see his cool tech.

You have really got to get out more, Michael! There's a whole world out there, you silly boy! Ha ha! Mommy told me once what PMC stood for, but I forgot exactly what it was. Anyways, I think how mommy explained it was that it was a bunch of soldiers with nobody to fight with, so they let people buy them and fight for them. Mommy always says the PMC's are bad. I don't know what to believe, because PMC's protect people! But they also kill people. It's confusing! So I just stick to my textbooks and exploring. Ha ha! (And no, I don't know what a saxaphone is. Is it some sort of music thing? Like a piano?)

What kind of new stuff do you want to know about? I don't get to see or know about much, because we don't have a vision screen or the big building where you can buy tech like in EU-1. But I'll try to tell you some of the stuff we use down here, if you want! Haha!

Now you answer me this:

Do you have candy in EU-1? If so, what is your favorite?
Also, I have an old metal box that has three little holes in it that some cord that I found with the laptop case can fit in. I think it's for power. If I put the box outside and plug in the laptop will it get powered up again? Or do I just have to turn off the laptop and wait for it to charge by itself? I couldn't find any instructions, but it's a good thing I have you! Ha ha!

Any ideas what the box is? A cord and 3 holes. Interesting that their technology seems to charge itself when its off! Some sort of chemical reaction?

Thought I'd jump in..sent off this E-mail
Quote:
Hey Grace
A friend of mine said you were looking to meet people on the internet, So I thought I would say Hi. SAM2 does seem kind of cool, I'm in EU 1 and it gets boring at times, So I write too. Most of my stories are bed time stories, thier not ment to be but most people end up falling asleep when they read them! Its nice to hear that you look after your mum, and you must be pretty clever to find the right hard drive for your old PC as I have problems turning this one on most days. To be honest I would prefer a PMC but this is good enougth to write on.
Anyhow you have fun and keep writing
Jono

She replied
Quote:
Hi Jono! It is good to hear from another person from EU-1! I guess now that I think about it it makes sense - EU-1 and NAUT are the only places where the really rich people live anyways, and I bet the people who live in NAUT are too busy working to chat with me! But artists have plenty of time to relax, so that's what I want to be! I have decided to move to EU-1 once I get old enough to get a job selling stories and songs and paintings, and then once I have enough money Mommy and me and Pudge will take the next airjet to EU-1 and buy a house, so we can all take walks and go to the beach, and eat at fancy restaurants!

I think you and I write the same kind of story though, ha ha! Mommy always listens to my stories when they are done, but it is usually late at night and she sometimes falls asleep. It's okay though, but I know she's just resting her eyes! Ha ha!

Sorry, but you confused me - is a PMC a kind of computer, too? I didn't think they made any kind of computer but the laptops anymore!

I hope you write back!

- Gracie

Then I got this a few minutes later
Quote:
Ha ha! How silly of me! I think I might have signed that last e-mail wrong - this program thingie keeps saying that my name is misspelled! I don't get it. G-R-A-C-E-Y. Gracey! Not Gracie, that's how old people spell their names! Ha ha.

Sorry if you confused me with any other Gracie's you know!

Metal box with three holes in it which a cable plugs into just sounds like a mains socket... but if she can move it about then maybe its some kind of generator or something.

She wants to put it outside, so maybe it's a solar charger.

BTW she said her mom's number on the digiscribe is 4015-6284-593512-CV. The digiscribe is a real thing. http://www.digiscribe.info/

I didn't know, so I hope that wasn't super obvious to everyone else.

I saw that site. Seems a bit odd if that site is related though as it's commercial and doesn't seem like something anyone is likely to be using.

Chat

A quick chat with Gracey (there's not really anything too important here, so feel free to skip w/o fear of missing something):
Quote:
11:04 AM gracey.caldwell: Hello there!

me: hi gracey!
you got my email?
Smile

11:05 AM gracey.caldwell: I think so! I have so many e-mails, teehee! I'm just now figuring out exactly how this darn thing works!

me: ok no worries
anything i can do to help?

gracey.caldwell: Not unless you can magically charge this thing! Ha ha!
11:06 AM me: no... afraid not
gracey.caldwell: I think I figured out what to do though. Mommy was outside smoking and she helped me set up the charger thingy.

me: oh that's good
i dont' think i really understand how it works actually

11:07 AM gracey.caldwell: Me neither, but now it's giving me the option to charge it up! It's a little window that keeps bouncing, so I think I had better listen to it.
I'll read all my answers in the morning, I think! Hehe.

me: yes hehe
11:08 AM oh is it late where you are?

gracey.caldwell: Oh no, not terribly late, but I don't know how long this laptop takes to charge. I'm a little new to this.

me: oh ok
11:09 AM so you said your mommy is sad.... do you know why?

gracey.caldwell: Oh my, everyone's sending me messages now! I feel so popular! Ha ha.

me: hehe yes... i let my friends know that you were on chat
sorry if you are getting bombarded Very Happy

gracey.caldwell: Hehe, no, I like it! I'm amazed that so many people want to be my friend!

11:10 AM me: well you've found a very nice bunch of people Smile
gracey.caldwell: I think so too. Good bye! What is your name?

me: Belle

11:11 AM gracey.caldwell: Okay Belle! That's a pretty name. I will talk to you later! Bye bye!

me: thanks gracey
take care Smile
