Just looked at my photos from Comic-Con and I definitely have nothing to add. Someone asked me a few pages back if I asked them anything and I didn't-- they were pretty busy marching and didn't seem to talk to many people; they were pushing forward!

Sony = MNU?

So I had a funny thought. We signed up for updates from MNU, but instead have received updates from Sony. Does that mean Sony is MNU? Does that mean Sony is an oppressive corporation that denies its non-human workers their basic rights? I believe it. Very Happy

Let me try and take a stab at some grammatical english:
Note: I'm making some assumptions here, feel free to correct me if you think there's a different translation...

Similar commands. {It give?} Find version hack. They are within the DA. {Are to? two?} Number (the?) content button. They're in bad text scouts. Ransom titles are up. Similar hacks are elsewhere. Elsion hack is here, and everywhere.

I bolded the bits I found interesting. I assumed "Rsom" was "Ransom". Apparently, there might be some more of these types of "hacks"...Could this me the alien resistance group? The name slips my mind... Also, what's this "Elsion" hack all about? Just brainstorming...

i was thinking that maybe Elsion Hax could be a name of somone or possibley a group. or it oculd be a codename for aperson or group, not really sure. sry if this is a little out of the blue. i was in the middle of reading this entire thread and thought i would mention this.

p.s. could elsion be a typo for the name alison? just throwing some stuff out there considering we have lots of time to think.

GEORGE HURSTWOOD
SisterCarrie & george get hitched?

SneakyGeeky wrote:
For anyone who's interested, Sister Carrie on Wikipedia:

Not sure how, beyond story wise, this relates...But nonetheless, it's intruiging. Also it *does* say on the D9 site that "Learning the Alien Language can be a valuable job skill." Could Sister Carrie be MNU? (Related, that is...)

i was skimming the wikipedia entry of Sister Carrie only to find the name GEORGE HURSTWOOD in the story. read the article, here is the paragraph i found the name in.

"Drouet installs her in a much larger apartment, and their relationship intensifies as Minnie dreams about her sister's fall from innocence. She acquires a sophisticated wardrobe and, through his offhand comments about attractive women, sheds her provincial mannerisms, even as she struggles with the moral implications of being a kept woman. By the time Carrie meets George Hurstwood, the manager of Fitzgerald and Moy's - a respectable bar that Drouet describes as a "way-up, swell place" – her material appearance has improved considerably. Hurstwood, unhappy with and distant from his social-climbing wife and children, instantly becomes infatuated with Carrie's youth and beauty, and before long they start an affair, communicating and meeting secretly in the expanding, anonymous city." could the MNUspreadlies.com george be George Hurstwood?

P.S. sry for double-post. Embarassed Very Happy

phone number

has anyone called this phone number that is said to be an IP address on george's blog, the ip address that the MNU guy says george is using which is 10 digits long (so in the 1(555) 5555 format)? I would call it, but I am not sure where it is.

This is my first post here, im sorry if this has already been mentioned, but i did not see it.

I assume you mean 235-445-4423?

All I can say is that 235 is not a valid area code..

there is also a poster named chuck on the blog, and a character named charles in the book Sister Carrie, a poster named jen, and an actress named jennifer who played in the movie of Sister Carrie, and there is a lucy and lizzy (who both come from some jane austen novels). These are the only links I could find between the names using my limited literary background, and has anyone read Sister Carrie who can see how this connects to aliens and second class citizenship?

Been lurking around, registered a while back, and did get the sony spam e-mail... for the heck of it i called the phone number. it says the muber you have dialed is not valid, message 7, switch 253. 253 is a valid area code for washington state... don't wanna call somebody's house though...
That message may have just been a generic phone message, but it didn't sound like a "normal" error message from my provider, soooo... [shrug]

According to FoneFinder that is not a valid area code. But on this list on www.allareacodes.com they do show several cities. My faith in FoneFinder has been shattered!

(edit to add) Upon further research, I see that these are recent changes, which FoneFinder might not be aware of. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean this string of digits is intended to be an in-game phone number. Within the context of how it appeared, I have my doubts.
Quote:
If you are dealing with a number within the 253 area code, you can be sure your calls are coming from the southern suburbs of Seattle, Pierce county, the area surrounding Puget Sound, and also, the city of Tacoma, Washington.

wiki updated with character avatars

I just wanted to announce some work I've done on the wiki. I spent hours going thru George's blog and taking notes, and fleshed out the Characters page at http://d9.wikibruce.com/Characters -- I still have a few gaps to fill, but i'm taking a break now :)
