Wow...I got a really long reply Very Happy

Gracey wrote:
Hi Augusta! I have a for-short name too! My mommy sometimes calls me Gracey Marie when I've made a mistake, on account of it being my middle name! She told me that it was a habit of hers, and that her mommy did the same thing to her when she was my age. Weird how that thing gets passed on, huh? Ha ha, I wonder if I will do that too? I bet I'll feel really silly when I tell my daughter that my mommy did the same thing to me! Ha ha ha!

I've gotten LOTS of e-mails from people lately! I don't know how they all got my e-mail address, but I sure am glad they did! I've been spending all morning inside answering these e-mails and giggling at what they say! I guess Anii must have spread the word to her friends that there was a girl looking for friends. But that's okay because I get to meet all of you! And yes, I would LOVE to be your new friend! Ha ha!

That's weird, I'm starting to think maybe lots of people don't know about the Territory act! A lot of the people I have talked to today are forgetful about which territory they live in! I think that might be one of my new "whims", as my mommy calls them. I think I could find a map with all the territories and stuff on it, so I could send it to my friends and they can be all the more informed! I think that would be nice, don't you? I think that's what friends do - they teach them about stuff! But not like teachers, ha ha! Teachers are too strict to be friends. Ha ha!

But for now, I'm pretty sure you live in NAUT, like the prefix that means ocean except a.. oh golly, what's the word? The one where the letters mean words? I don't remember. What a silly way to remember things - what it someone used the same letters as you for something else? That's awfully confusing.

I love to read! I have a bunch of old books of mommies. She says they aren't really kids books, but I like to read them anyways. Some of them she doesn't let me read because they're only for grown-ups, boring stuff. But I get to read her textbooks and they're really interesting! You learn all sorts of stuff about what happened a long time ago and how people lived back then! Mommy told me once that if I read the first two chapters I'd have read everything that had ever happened in history, just in a different place with different people. She says that history always repeats itself, which is silly because it's not like we have time machines where everything is on repeat! That's silly, but she's kind of silly in her own way. But I think she's probably right. She has a knack for that sort of thing. But no, I've never read of Harry Potter. Is he a politician?

I think that your dog and my dog would get along! If you didn't live so far away I would definitely walk to your house so our dogs could play. Pudge is kind of a scaredy-cat, so he might be afraid of your dog, ha ha! I can just imagine Tim laying there asleep and Pudge shaking in his boots at the thought of him! I just laughed so hard I had to wait 5 minutes before I could come back to the computer! Pudge was looking at me weird, which only made me laugh harder! But I had to take the laptop outside so I wouldn't disturb Mommy. She's in one of those moods again.

I don't go to school. Mommy teaches me some, but mostly I just take video phone tutorials on the basic stuff that Mommy bought a long time ago. What's a "grade"?

Ha ha, I think I ramble too! I have so many friends, I think I may have to start rationing out my words to everyone or else my fingers may go numb! Ha ha, yeah right. This is too much fun to limit what I have to say!

Write back soon!

- Gracey

PS: I started ending my e-mails with that. I saw a bunch of my new online friends doing it and thought it would be good. It helps, because now you know who sent the e-mail!

My reply is long also...to save space, I pretty much asked her if she could send over the map. I'll post it here once I get it. Doesn't really seem like this is taking any sort of direction...yet lol.

Anyone had anything back for a while? I'm wondering if the laptop has run out of battery. Did she say it was late where she is?

Gracey's mom is worried about her eating "new" kiwi fruit.
Could that be because it'll mess up mom's genetics experiment, code named "G.R.A.C.E.Y"? She's uber smart and beats all the boys in athletics.
Sounds like Clan of the Cave Bear Wink

Could one of you ask her how far she is from "old" Buenos Aries?

ETA: Here's her laptop:

Got back from work and had a lovely response from Gracey. Must say I love this ARG kid LOL One thing I thought was really neat was the fact she brought up dragon's and my icon of my dragon tatt LOL

Quote:
Hi Tenshi!

That's a really neat name! I've never heard that name before. I think names are a lot of fun. You can learn a lot about someone just from their name! For example, in all my textbooks about Greece they all have beautiful names like Dionysus and Athena, but all the German people I've read about have ugly gross names like Hans and Adolf. Tenshi sounds graceful though, kind of like a rare breeze blowing through the fronds out in a tree!

I love writing fairy tales. My mommy says that I should try to write about things that are real, you know, things around me. But SA-2 can be kind of dull, you know? I love living here but there are no dragons here. I don't think there were ever dragons, now that I think of it. I think that if dragons existed we would probably still be fighting them, ha ha!

If you promise you won't tell my mommy, I'll tell you something I do for fun that's exciting! She didn't tell me NOT to do it, but I think she would have, so I just didn't ask.

SO PROMISE!! Ha ha.

- Gracey

PS: Have you ever seen a dragon in EU-1?
PPS: I have learned about "PS" recently, am I using it right? Should everything I send have a "PS"?

Hi Gracey,

Sorry it took so long to respond, I had to go to work today. Just got home and was thrilled to get your email. You sound like such a lovely and bright person Makes reading the mail so much more pleasant! And thank you for the complament on my name It's a Japanese name that means Angel. I also have to agree that names are very important, and so much fun. I love the name Gracey, it reminds me of an old actress from America. Princess of Grace of Monico You'd like her story, she was a normal girl who married a prince! But like all fairy tales fell into some trouble. But that's a different story for a different day.

I love dragon's too! And you know what! I bet there are still dragon's out there, ones that are hiding from everyone cuz they want to be left alone! To answer your question, I wish I had seen a dragon. That would be soooooo cool!

As to your request that I promise not to tell your mom. I wont *crosses heart* Cross my heart and hope to die!

Tenshi

P.S.Yes your using the PS right You don't need to use it on everything, unless you have a thought after you finish the letter

I'm new to this, but it all sounded so intriguing I thought I'd send Gracey an email too . . .

Hi Gracey!

My name is briony and I heard that you were looking for new email penpals Smile That's really exciting, I always like finding new people to write to! Making new friends over the internet is fun. You're very clever to get that old laptop up and running, my sister is only a little bit older than you and I don't think she's be able to do that! She likes to write too, especially stories. And she's always up in her room drawing me pictures, usually funny ones of me. I stick put them up on my bedroom walls and they make my friends laugh. Do you like drawing too?

I live in a place called Scotland, which I think is in EU-1, and is really pretty with lots of trees, but it is cold and wet for a lot of the time. I'm usually inside speaking to people on the internet or reading stories. Sometimes I go out in the rain, but it's not much fun (unless you have a good umbrella). Does it rain a lot near your house? Or can you go out with your friends and play?

Write back to me soon, I love getting emails!

Briony Smile

Looking forward to getting a reply . . .

...nice laptop! XD

Hold on, I just had an idea. Maybe the project is named "G.R.A.C.I.E?" "Genetic something something something something Experiment?" After all, she did say her computer always changes her name to "Gracie" and she has trouble remembering the word "acronym"...just a thought though.

My guess is that the Gracey/Gracie thing is just a cover for a forgetful PM. He/she realized that they'd sent the message with the name misspelled and needed an IG reason for why that happened. Blaming an overzealous Autocorrecting word processor is definitely a pretty good fudge. Smile

That laptop is a serious bit of kit! But can it play Crisis? (nevermind). Course by our standards its a high end laptop by theirs its probably about as much use as an Apple II is now! She said they don't have flat screens anymore does that make them curved http://www.scalabledisplay.com/images/pic_curve_2.jpg or spherical like the Microsoft Sphere?

Just an FYI for those who don't know:

PMC stands for Private Military Company, so she's basically describing "security companies" like Blackwater, etc.

Wow all this info in the one night I've been gone, holy hell!

Email from G.

Quote:
I love chess! It's an old game, mommy says, but it's so much fun. I don't understand some of the pieces though. Mommy says they meant something, but I kind of forgot. Ha ha! And yes, I think he has false teeth. He likes to pull them out and scare me by kissing my cheek with them! I didn't think it was funny the first time, but he only does it on special occasions now so it's alright.

She writes boring stuff. She doesn't ever let me read it because she says I wouldn't understand anyways. I think I would, but from the looks of the titles they don't seem very interesting.

And as for the territories, well, they've been around for a long time! It's funny that you ask me what year I was born because my mommy always says that 2016 was the year her life became better because I was born and the world became worse, but I don't know why or how. I don't really understand what she means, but all I know is that my mommy's happy to have me and as far as I can tell, the world isn't too bad off either! At least down where I live anyways. Nobody's mean here, and everyone helps each other. It's a nice place to live.

So do they have vision screens where you live? I heard that rich people in EU-1 have vision screens and huge houses. I've only seen pictures.

My response.

Quote:
Gracey,

Hiya! Sorry I've not written back in a little bit but I've been somewhat busy. Of course you were born in 2016 sorry... You're eight and it's now 2024 I'm such a silly!! So what are the titles of these things your mommy writes? I bet they can't be as boring as "Charlie Choo-Choo" or "My daddy is a businessman" right!?

Vision screens? Um I'm still using a Samsung 27 inch flatscreen monitor for my computer system so, I wouldn't know about that... I'm not exactly rich and, don't know enough about my parents to find out if I had a rich family either Sad Although my house IS quite big! hehe

Tell me though, do you guys in SA-2 get problems with the PMC? They've been causing quite a stir over here in EU-1 lately although... They say it's for the better. Do you know when they were formed? Have they always been around as far as you can remember?

Do you go to school, Gracey? Or, do you learn from home?

@Leyton: Have you read Stephen Kings Dark Tower series by any chance?

I'm starting to lean towards the idea that changing the names of the countries wasn't a peaceful thing. If it was a sign of unity under a new world government then their wouldn't be any hard feelings. Still got no idea where this ARG is going though.

Has anyone else been left out of the recent batch of emails? I haven't had anything recently. I'm wondering if maybe we won't get an answer unless we ask the right questions... Confused Gonna try emailing again see if I get a reply.

I was just about to ask if anybody has heard from her yet...I haven't received anything yet either D:

I kinda just assumed that her laptop wasn't fully charged, and she can't use it.

(or maybe she's on an adventure? XD)

I havent recieved anything either. But it could be part of the game, maybe? You know like she vanishes for a day or two then comes back with some big news or something?
