sign up for invite

Hey guys,

I finally got Novak to sit down with me. He's been quite busy designing the
website for one of his clients. Hopefully he'll be able to help me out more. I
got a package today, I haven't opened yet. I'm going to open it up later this
evening and let you all know what's in it.

Mikey made a google group and invted some people who have emailed with him before. http://groups.google.com/group/SurryIS?hl=en His first message was:

Quote:
I've added everyone in my contact list that I know have been helping
us out. If you know of someone that you think we should add to this
group, let me know. Have them send me a message to my e-mail with the
topic: "I Surf Safe [GG]"

Thanks guys now to go take a look over this package stuff.

His email address is mikeySPLATsurryinvestigations.com

Whee, packages! Smile I hope we get to hear more about what happened when he "sat down" with Novak.

FYI, I think that in a Google group, the other members can see your email address. So consider using one you won't cry over if it were to be compromised someday.

Looks like Novak's got that covered:

Only members can view group content
Only managers can view group members list
People can request an invitation to join
Members can create and edit pages
Members can upload files
Only members can post

Sorry, double post. Mikey opened the package and found a password protected flash drive and a note. He scanned the note and put it on the group page. Here it is. I tried dialing the underlined number but 397 does not seem to exist. duh it's obviously the cipher wheel arrangement.

He also wants to encrypt a message asking about a password for the flash drive.

That may not be necessary:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The enclosed flash drive is password protected
Use the password vampyrus

How was this solved? I'm still waiting for confirmation into the group.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

I used the underlined number sequence in the image above for alignment. The rest is cipher text. I used WinCipherWheel to do the deciphering. Everything in this ciphertext was shifted one down. No alternating direction.

New posting from Mikey:

Quote:
One of the first files I opened was a government file from Barrett
Harper, a Captain in the Air Force from right after WWII. His work is
interesting and seems to answer some questions about some of the
strange dreams I've had as of late. Nothing as terrifying as the ones
I seemed to have before Amun's ritual though.

There's a lot of information on this flash drive. I'm going over some
transcripts of the girls' text messages, and a number of other scanned
documents from this Barrett Harper guy. I wonder if he's still alive
today. I thought I would go ahead and share these files with you all
and get your impressions about these "species" of awlyn. What have I/
we gotten ourselves into?

Edit: Just in case some people aren't members of the google group, i've uploaded the files here.

The files he uploaded are a memo from Barrett Harper (i.e. the WWII dude) describing 3 species of Awlyn with different attributes.

Phone logs
my take

so by the phone logs novahelix was 15 mins late and 12 mins later katie sent mjgptwddd which comes out to 654789333 starting on the six thats counter clock wise and then jumping the 6 to hit the 3 three times.
kelsy uses the text1A (auto fills the next logical sequence) but katie is using the text A so she could have typed that sequence by accident. but the fact that 6 was jumped over bothers me a bit. an accidental jamming of numbers would have left a sequence of 6547896333 or if you look at it two handed 6584796333

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
but a cryptogram search turned up CONGRESSS PRINCESSS COUNTESSS DUTCHESSS.

this was not anything especially intuitive on my part because i accidentally forgot to go from cryptogram function to anagram.

Katia is a "lycanicas" as she changes once a month and not at will.

Wait, whut? Confused

I think the account # from the text msg log may be recoverable, or at least part of it. Googling Friscotel reveals sweet bupkis, and friscotel.com and friscom.com look like dead ends and/or OOG. I'm not sure if we can anything with that or not.

I was once stuck in a town called East Nicholas. no even on the map. every person living in that town made it a point to look at me. the clerk at the diner asked if i was passing through. the sheriff asked what was wrong with the car. then an old man about 80yr Old showed up on his tractor with a tire and fixed my flat tire and told me "to get on home it is getting dark."
we (my friends and I) traveled back late at night many times and found and saw very strange things. werewolves live in East Nicholas and they do not go to church there either
