[INFO] Crowley, Bees and Melissa

I dont know if this is actually spec, but I dont know what else to call it. I just wanted to point out a few things:

1 It was already posted that A Crowley wrote a book called 777, which he wrote after returning from China. He also wrote the Book of the Law which contains the phrases "Do what thou wilt is the whole of the law" and {That} is the law and the whole of the law". Im only reposting this because it seems really significant to me.

2 In Ancient Greece the Temple of Demeter and Aphrodite had priestesses known as Melissae which means bees! Aphrodite herself was referred to as the Queen Bee and was also known as Melissa, which means bee!

I dunno what if anything, any of this means, but I figured id share it![/b]

Gentle platter of trout for thee, but good researching on the original info. Check before you post though, as we all keep telling each other. There is, FYI, a lot of Greek and other historical references in this ARG, but that is part of Bungie mythology. They take the history as we know it, use it, tie into it, but it's not carbon copied (or carbon dated, for that matter.) They're great minds with a love for history. Look for the correlations and the historical references, keep them in the back of your head, for they may indeed tie into something. Just don't expect history as we know it to repeat itself. Just sevens.

But yes, it would serve us all well to try to remember all of the information that has been given to us, and not to forget previous phases. Keep it in the back of the mind, something'll click. Might hurt, might help.

Off Topic, I wonder if Melissa killed the Wiki in an effort to disrupt our efforts. Goddess of love indeed. Razz

I disagree... I don't recall these references in particular ever being pointed out before, and I find them quite useful.

Perhaps Crowley's works will tell us something more.

I'm sure it's very useful (no sarcasm) info, I'm glad it was brought back to our attention. There's so much going on that a lot keeps slipping through the cracks, and I think some (most?) of it might still be very pertinent to the case at hand.

I've been lurking here since July, though, and they've both been posted about. Heh someone got picked on about the Melissa/bee thing just a week or so ago, and the Crowley info has been around for quite a while. Now, the reminder of the importance is great! Always. Heck that's what I post most of the time myself, reminding people to keep specking and don't forget what we already have while we're working on new stuff.

No problem here, just making sure everyone knows where I was coming from. 'twas a gentle trout, for the info, a praise for the rememberence and spec. I do suggest finding an older/relevant thread to post in, if you can (everybody, 'cludin me) instead of making a new one, if you have some cool info to point out or specs. Saves space, keeps organization. Farwell.

fyi,

there is a "crowley maritime" hosted by the same folks who host ILB.

http://www.crowley.com/

they are a legit company and the only "connection" i could find was with:

Quote:

In 1892, Thomas Crowley dipped the oars of a single Whitehall rowboat into the waters of San Francisco Bay, determined to earn a living ferrying goods and people between ships at anchor and this bustling California port. Two generations later, Crowley's grandson, Tom Crowley Jr., runs the company – a global shipping, logistics and marine services powerhouse, and has launched an innovative Web strategy to connect Crowley Maritime Corporation to the world.

from here:

probably nothing, but i thought i'd post it anyway.
