Subject: Request for information regarding Ron Daubert
Date: Tue, 17 Aug 2004 23:21:56 -0500
Dear Sir or Madam:
You have previously corresponded with our employee Ron Daubert, or discussed him with another Tomorrow's Talk employee. A missing persons report has been filed on Mr. Daubert, and we at Tomorrow's Talk are very concerned for his safety. We understand that he has a personal internet domain, but we do not know the URL. If you have any information regarding this domain, please contact me as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Sandra Brown
Director of Human Resources
Tomorrow's Talk Studios

Ooooh, so Ron has his own webpage, eh? I hope this isn't just a reference to his LastWishes page. Have we put any effort into trying to guess a URL for his website? I know I haven't yet...

I just did a google search on (Rod Daubert)...
The Sponsored links on the right led me to http://www.puzzlecards.net/ (Which just has to be in game... If you click on "About" on that website, you get a link to his personal website http://www.ronsworld.org/ , which, in "About me", mentions that he works at Tomorrow's Talk!
(I can't do any more digging as I need sleep...)

Hey cool, I did that search too and saw the same site but passed over it like I usually do ads. I suppose I should reply to her with the URL?
Edited to add: Ha! His blog mentions my typo report from way back! Now who could the other entry possibly refer to, hmmm?

Has anyone tried sending a message to the e-mail address listed on the page?

Actually SB I would think we wouldn't want her to have the URL. If TT has malicious intent here, they could be trying to find his website as a means of tracking him down, or erasing evidence that he might have put on the site. I think until we know more about Ron and TT, we should try to protect his identity...

Booooooooooooooo! Booooooooooo!!
I'm not sure how the sponsored link program works, but when _I_ google for Ron Daubert, there are no sponsored links of any kind. Just searching Daubert gives me the legal site dauberttracker.com, and the normal results just show more legal stuff or the occaisional forum post.
Ergo:
I'm Boooooooo!ing the game/internet/google for not letting me move forward.

I have the same problem as Arben, in that I get no sponsored links when searching for Ron Daubert, with quotes and without. Which is kind of odd. But oh well, at least they have been found now, eh. We probably should have picked up on Ron's World from the Last Wishes journal, but never mind.
Anyone else think it's a little odd that Ron didn't mention his personal website in his communications to kona, varin, or anyone else? Or do you think he just didn't want TT to get a hold of the address? He could have encoded it in the usual capital-letter style.

You have to make sure you use google.com not any international versions just in case that's the problem you're having.

Doh. That's exactly what it was, Wishi. You need to google it, with quotes, on www.google.com. I was using .co.uk. It's strange, because 'Ann Starling' worked fine with UK google, leading me to Dead Poems via a sponsored link. Darn, because I've tried googling Ron a few times in the past =/

Yes, Please DON'T send them the url.
We've established that TT is 'evil' or something to that effect.
We don't want to have them shut down the site!

Yea, well, as I mentioned in chat I, um, already sent them the URLs last night before anyone warned me not to. If they really shouldn't have them, I guess it's up to the PMs now to ignore it. All I got in reply was the standard auto-response.

Logfiles at TT? First post, so, well, HELLO!
Just a thought - if the
nice
people at TT really wanted the URL, wouldnīt it be a good idea to check their own web server for clues? Considering Ron has linked to TTīs web page the web server at TT should have www.ronsworld.org as HTTP_REFERER in its logs if at least one person has followed the link. Should be a piece of cake to extract with any log analysing software . Letīs just hope that they donīt visit this forum...
