[spec] Patient 9's picture

http://cambridgementalhospital.com/patients3.html

I've been staring at this picture for the longest time, and I have noticed some incredibly interesting things.

First, obviously the signature "Patient 9" is odd since the 9 is crossed out and then rewritten in. But more notable is the fact that the bones on the right are actually hand bones.specifcally someones right thumb and index. It almost looks like an x-ray of their hand.

Some stuff to think about, Perhaps there is more hidden in this picture then at first glance. As well, there seems to be real obsession with hands in almost everything I've seen lately. This could be a red herring, but I'm curious if anyone has noticed anything more about this? Especially the Patient 9 thing.

Patient 9 might mean bed #9, which would be Fred Wilson. but that makes no sense, because the patients have longer numbers than that. it could also refer to a room number. I'm not sure really. It just really catches my eye.

Also, that windmill thing looks like different images of the moon, giving the moon an appearance in two pics.

Just wanted to note two things:

1. The first 9 is not merely crossed out. It is of a different style than the second one - notice the more slanted bottom, rather than a straight one. It almost looks like an upside down, reverse "6".

2. The blades of the windmill appear to be identical, down to even the little white dots which are noticeable against the black background.

call me crazy, but i see a skull in the drawing.
the right-most "blade" or "petal"...look at the moon as the top of the skull. now look into the shaded area beneath it. does anyone else see hollow eyesockets, a triangle nose, and a sunken cheek? the skull appears to be in 3/4 profile.

also, the large number of acute angles in this drawing keeps drawing my attention. still working on it though

anyone make anything of those two white lines at the top? they form an "A" with the line in the top left petal.

The patient 9 part...it looks like a g crossed out and a 9 added. The area right behind patient nine looks like an X and an i and something else in cloud letters.

Here's my two bits:

Trying the image manipulation thing (flipping, playing with contrast, etc) the signature looks like different lettures.

Edit: what I've done is mirrored the file horizontally, then boosted the contrast to get a better view of the text. I've attached a sample for better illustration:

P R(x) tngitbf
(A?) (7?)

The crossed out "9" looks like either an R or the letter A. The Last leter, the reversed "P" has a faint spot that makes it look like a cursive F or the number 7. (Edit#2: on closer inspection, I think it looks more like a 9)

Also, with the contrast really boosted, you can make out a faint pattern across the top. Dental X-Rays, to match the hand? What's with the wireframe model, too?

I don't know if there's anything to it. Maybe someone else

Moons

If you cut the fan blades out and rotate and stick together, they resemble Saturn, more then the moon. OR maybe any planet with a Ring around it.

Reaper

Another maybe un-important aspect, is when the picture is flipped, it looks correct. As if the picture was flipped, much like an x-ray. Maybe thats the signifigance of the hand x-ray. Reaper guy in the picture is also walking away when flipped "Ancient Terror" = Death?

And don't forget the picture on the Deadpoems Foreward page where we found "ancient terror". It was an Angel of Death.

Hey guys, N00b poster here....

If the planet in the picture is Saturn, then there may be some other layers to regard here. Saturn is the Roman name for the god Chronus...who is often depicted holding a scythe...

...just like the one in the picture is holding.

But Saturn/Chronus isn't a god of death, but of agriculture...so I don't know where that fits.

Don't know if that helps anyone?

Also, the skeleton hand looks like it has a photoshop mesh on it...

Just realized another thing, witch might be totally un-important.

This picture is the only one of the pics at Cambridge Mental Hospital website, that is signed but not with a name. The other pictures that is signed is either signed Jim Doe or Beatrice Doe, while this is signed Patient 9.

[SPEC] Might mean that this picture was either signed by someone so mad and deluded that they did not remember either their own name or some fantasy-name in their illusions, or that the signature was added by someone else.

Probably totally un-important...
