I found the password for the props site:
http://www.ancientromeprops.typepad.com
But it goes absolutely haywire when the page tries to load. I end up having to close the page.

I'm also at episode 2...
As for the site; when you 'cancel' the login-box a couple of times, you can get a screen with the text but no pictures. When you then click on the dagger, a new login-box appears. That one worked.

Calling Liz is important; she might even be willing to help you out... Driving across Rome and visiting churches cán be fun you know.
When you are stuck, travel back and forth between your pc and your phone. Sometimes, Emails can only be answered after calls are made, and visa versa.
I'm currently stuck in episode three; can't seem to survive the torture.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
After a while, alternating truths and lies (telling the truth on 'obvious' questions, but NOT telling them where I hid the blade, they offered 2 mil for it... Then asked me to work for them. After lying yet again they killed me. But earlier, on a previous try, they stabbed me when I gave up the blade immediately.

If you're looking for churches, just keep looking in the encyclopedia. It's there I promise.
EDIT: Hurry to Episode four. The plot gets better.

Is it just a brief mention or do they get their own articles?
