So the morse coupled with the earlier lion clues gives us
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
sphinx.

Also wanted to add for the record that the tab for the sleep page says, "perchance to dream."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konstantin_Raudive
Quote:
In 1964, Raudive read Friedrich Jürgenson's book, Voices from Space, and was so impressed by it that he arranged to meet Jürgenson in 1965. He then worked with Jürgenson to make some EVP recordings, but their first efforts bore little fruit, although they believed that they could hear very weak, muddled voices. According to Raudive, however, one night, as he listened to one recording, he clearly heard a number of voices. When he played the tape over and over, he came to believe he understood all of them. He thought some of which were in German, some in Latvian, some in French. The last voice on the tape, according to Raudive, a woman's voice, said "Va dormir, Margarete" ("Go to sleep, Margaret").

Good call on the Sphinx!

Alright I guess I suck at hearing things cause I got nothing from the mp3. Sounds really familiar, like a Mazzy Star song maybe but I'm not sure offhand. Backwards it sounds like Sigur Ros lol.

But yah the "to sleep perchance to dream" bit is from Hamlet.

edit: haha ok disregard like half this post i'm slow

Nice research Mr. Toasty. What jumped out at me is this sentence from the EVP Research section, "The last voice on the tape, according to Raudive, a woman's voice, said "Va dormir, Margarete" ("Go to sleep, Margaret")." I think we know who our Margaret is now.

Funny, it's almost easier to hear what's reversed in the mp3 as it is on the page than when you reverse the file. So far the only thing clear is a woman laughing at one point. Hard to make out what the guy is saying, but given the above I suppose it's possible he isn't speaking English.

Trying voicesinthestatic.com/sphinx bears no fruit, but it shows the host as Hurricane Electric Internet Services

Looks like the Police song in the first audio file was, fittingly, Voices Inside My Head.

One of the songs playing on 2nd audio file is Christmas Wish by El Vez, this is the only link I could find for it and it's short.

It has the tune, but it's not the original.

ETA - the original is called "Sleep Walk."
