The translation is definitely EISI so I think it must stand for something else.

It is . .. ... ..
You can put it into this translator http://scphillips.com/cgi-bin/morse.cgi

Morse code in thedoor.mp3 ?
& comingthrough

Just a wild idea for http://voicesinthestatic.com/thedoor.mp3
"speak in rhythm".... maybe the beats can be decoded somehow?
Here's an online Morse code to music translator; if that helps any. http://www.philtulga.com/morse.html

I, also, believe that there's a recurrent Morse code message running all the way through http://voicesinthestatic.com/comingthrough.mp3 in the static. It's best heard at the end of the mp3.
I'm not very skilled in audio analysis. I've been playing with Audacity not really knowing what I'm doing. I'll try to figure out how to post what I think I'm hearing.
Speaking of which; these audios are haunting me. They're very creepy.

eta: This attached mp3 is from the end of comingthrough. I hear the pattern repeated four times in this clip.

There is definitely a repeating pattern to the static. Looking at it in Audacity it is very easy to see it in the waveform even. It starts off looking like Morse but quickly turns into something indeciperable, at least to my eye and ear. I tried looking at it the other way (silence encoding Morse) but couldn't get anywhere with that yet either. Not saying there isn't anything in there, I just haven't hit on it yet.

As for thedoor, the long tones on top of the song also have Morse-like qualities when looking at the spectral view. They could be seen as a -.. (D) repeating three times, but that doesn't really get us anything either.

Gonna fire up the laptop and have a go with Audition later to see if I can do more there.

And no email love for me yet. Sad

If anyone can supply me with the version of 'Earth Angel' that is used in the mp3, I can use it as a mask to filter out the voices.

Morse Code

I put the ending of the comingtrough.mp3 through the spectral view and put dashes to represent where the breaks are located in the view. The breaks are in white. You will notice that there is a set of 3 breaks at one point in the picture, the 3rd one may or may not be a break, I can't tell from looking at it because they are so close together.

EDIT TO SELF: This picture is going to make the forum page wider! Bah!

I hope that this helps.

i am preoccupied with the embedded audio on sleep... the backwards stuff... there is a reversed male voice early on and a reversed female voice late in the clip... neither of which i feel we have really nailed yet

Double Post

I came across something that may be of some interest within the comingthrough.mp3. While listening to it a few times I began to notice a tone under the static layer, which I can not get to atm. You can listen too it in the following two examples below if: 1) You listen carefully and, 2) you listen too it enough times to drive yourself batty.

I thought, at first, that this was the tone that the PM was using originally and then just putting the static over it to cover it up so that it couldn't be heard. I thought that the static represented 'dots and dashes' (short ones being dots, long ones being dashes... until I came up with 'A9ZAAJJE' as a solve, bah).

However, if you listen to the two examples below, you will notice that the tones do not coincide with the lengths of the static. In one example the tone is lower on the short ones and higher on the long ones (tone1.mp3). In the other example it switches (tone2.mp3).

To add to the confusion the tone can not really be heard until about the middle of the static, which makes decoding this using the tones a tad bit difficult.

In short, I am banging my head up against a brick wall trying to figure this one out.

Maybe you all will have better luck than I will.

EDIT: Guests have a way of ruining my sleep, especially when I think that they are the PMs of this game. I guess it's back to "sleep" then for another looksy.

EDIT2: And the guest would be correct in saying that there is a male voice at the beginning of the audio... except for one minor glitch, you actually have to play it in it's original non-reversed form to understand what he is saying (in other words, the male is at the end of the audio in it's original form. If reversed he is at around 7.4 seconds in). From what I can gather so far it's "The Sun has set...". Still listening and will be getting less sleep than I should be today.

EDIT3: I've uploaded the male voice. I'm hearing a lot of different possibilities atm so it's anyones guess as to what is being said. Have a crack at it yourself. Me? I'm getting a nap in.
