ETA - has to be it:

Margarete Petrautzki had told the experimenter during her lifetime that she did not believe in an existence after death. In one of the recordings featuring her we hear:

"Bedenke, ich bin!" (Germ: "Imagine, I am!")

"Musu Kosti, Kosti ir." (Latv: "Our Kosti, Kosti exists.")

natas, thanks so much for SoThink, another useful tool for the collection today!

Hawkspar & MrToasty, wonderful research on Margrete. Yes, it's been TOO long Hawk. I'm thrilled you've returned and dug right into this. The things we've missed are haunting me tonight, especially Mona Lisa in the noise.

For those who'd like a free audio editor, Audacity is very well reviewed, and I realized today they have a fantastic wiki for it here:

nothing from adding noise

I came across this article about researchers adding noise to Mona Lisa to produce different effects. http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn6056

From the article (emphasis mine):
Quote:
Christopher Tyler and Leonid Kontsevich at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute in San Francisco manipulated a digital image of the painting by introducing random visual noise - the equivalent of the snow seen on a badly tuned TV set

I took hallway.jpg and added noise to it in photoshop but couldn't get anything out of it.

I also played around with the color balance and the hex code #eeeeee considering the morse code in the HTML source of /hallway AND the morse code in mataleon.mp3 BOTH equal "e e e e e e."

I also emailed echo tonight and asked if margaret was choked to death.

Morning. Smile The "hallway.jpg" has the same name and appears unchanged(imo). However, there are now 6 hidden dots above the image (and in the source code). Believe yesterday there were just 5.

Sorry Amandel as far as I recall it's always been E.E.E.E.E.E.

walkingpaper, thanks for joining in and for your good research on mona lisa and noise. It's fascinating to see how small things can change our perceptions so dramatically. I'm not entirely convinced yet that we haven't missed something here: http://www.voicesinthestatic.com/sleep.htm

It doesn't seem like she died of choking because the article What posted said she had an illness, although it's possible that made her choke. Or possibly seeing someone being choked scared her as a child. Looking forward to whatever reply you receive.

For those wanting to compare the original hallway with what might have changed, this is the original:

Holy Expletive Russell_k. How did you find that?! I must admit I hadn't thought about the actual location, and I wonder how the Philly St. Hospital Byberry figures into this story, ghosts aside.

Great find Russell!
New email from Echo
Quote:
mona hospital

angry at new building

It seems like it might relate the the Philadelphia State Hospital. Confused

Edit/There is a commenter on the Opacity.us site that goes by the name Mona Lisa.
