I emailed Mona in Dutch (it's my native language too Smile ), telling her I wanted to talk to her about the voices and the door. She emailed back a minute later with this:

Ok, as far as searches at my school I got mostly nothing. No joy on the scholarly journal article front. I found several references to Byberry, but mostly in terms of orgazational theory and drug testing. Nothing about a fire or anything illegal-like. I found one book:

Author Martindale, Joseph C
Title: A history of the townships of Byberry and Moreland, in Philadelphia, Pa., from their earliest settlement by the whites to the present time. By Joseph C. Martindale
Imprint Philadelphia, T. E. Zell, 1867

But my lib. doesnt own it anymore though so if anyone else wants to do a search of their respective libraries and see if maybe they can drop by and peek at the index that would be cool...

I also found one microfiche roll, BUT its not here...its at the Rutherford B Hayes Presidential Center (several hours away). While I am not adverse to finding it, its actually complimentary to the above book of the same name and probably is just an assortment of pictures of the townships over time.

Tres was spot on with the Phili Inquirer front, though I can't see the full text of the two relevant articles without paying a subscription fee. Heres what I CAN see and it pretty interesting.

SOME SAY the land is haunted. Others say it's cursed. But in the world of real estate, land is land.

A century ago, the doors to the Philadelphia Hospital for Mental Diseases, infamously known as Byberry, opened for its first patient.

During its existence, Byberry, at the end of Roosevelt Boulevard in the Somerton section of Northeast Philadelphia, generated a myriad horrific tales of patient murder, torture and rape. Even after the hospital closed in 1990, the grounds became

Byberry, Philadelphia's notorious mental hospital known for warehousing and abusing its patients - including soldiers returning from World War II with what we now call post-traumatic stress disorder - was the direct descendant of Philadelphia's colonial poorhouse.

The Pennsylvania Alms-house opened in 1732, taking in the penniless, the orphaned, the aged and the poor mentally ill. Wealthier mentally ill patients were treated at Pennsylvania Hospital, and later, the

Sorry for the long post!

EDIT - I have to go to teach and then have class so I'll be gone for a few hours but someone should e-mail the authors and see if they might be willing to reveal anything/send the full text etc...

I'm able to read those articles entirely on the newspaper's website. I'm posting the links, but if people have trouble accessing them I create a couple of text files and post them.

This is the response I got from Mona. Looks like we're not going to be able to talk to her. I emailed Mona, echo and Margaret in Morse code. I addressed Mona and Margaret directly and asked echo to please get in touch with Margaret with a message.

This response is the only one I received.

sleep code?

this is total speculation, but echo has mentioned so much about sleep and communication, i'm wondering if there's any sort of code or cypher related to sleep:

Quote:
go to sleep
speak in sleep
we speak through sleep
the words that sleep speaks
in overlooking sleep
sleep is communication [line break] telephone to souls
Me: why do i need to sleep? Echo: communication

The only thing remotely similar I know of is a javascript library called sleep Confused
