Should've given chase with the car! Laughing

Did you take any more pictures?

I'm looking at the intersection, trying to guess where it all took place exactly.

Anything peculiar about the van? Something to trace? Did they escape through Berry or 5th?

ok so that was short and sweet. Basically, We got in a car with Ethan. We went to Berry and North 5th and Tyler was standing outside a building. Ethan got out of the car to meet her. As he was crossing the street, a red van with Jersey plates peeled up and two guys in black shirts totally nabbed her. Ouch. Ethan ran but didn't catch her

You were actually there for that or was it a video?

Actaually it was Wythe and North 5th that the building Tyler was in front of was on. I didn't see how the van escaped but the driver of the car didn't follow it. The scene that they set up was really sweet though. Those guys set it up pretty good! I was really into it. It was a red van With Jersey plates but. Don't think that part was important. The whole scene was cool though.

It was all live action. It was pretty sweet. Some innocent by standers were freaked out! LOL!

This may be the first time ever that I have been jealous of someone living in New York.....ok, it's passed...

oh and there was bar on the corner. So I am sitting here downing Jim Beam and getting kind of toasted. Or should I say, getting deleted! Nice

Oh and (edit) it kind of reminded me of the prototype 161 event that went down a few months ago. That also involved abduction by van. Yeah, NYC is a cool place. I still secretly wish I would have settled in London but NYC is still a cooler place than the world gives us credit for.

Sounds like fun, even though it was short.

So many questions, though. So Ethan was there, and another man driving the car? How did you find Tyler, did you just drive around until you saw her or did they already know where she would be?

I'm wondering if they had camera's hidden, and if it will be included in tonight's episode.

I'm pretty sure it was 34 North 5th Street. I looked pretty quick, but I'm pretty sure that's what it was.

The guy who was driving...I think his name was Andreas...the creator of the thing. When I went to the cast party, he gave a video presentation thing. I think he might be the guy that lives at 250 Montrose in Brooklyn. I think the guy is OOG though, he was just driving to this setup.

So Ethan said that he got a tip that Tim Daniels had been in touch with Tyler and Carlyal knew where she was and was going after her. He wanted to bring Tyler into hiding with him.
He knew where to go, they had it all set up. Tyler was standing outside looking around, Ethan got out of the car and right as he was about to cross North 5th, that's when the van came.

OH MY GOD! They killed Tyler! YOU BASTARDS!

http://tylerobituary.t83.net/#

I assume that will be the on-line obituary when it is done. I'm pretty sure there is something hidden in the photo on Zach's new blog, but I can't get camouflage to run on my OS. I'll try steg it, but I betcha its done in camouflage...hmmmmm...

tyler's phone number? I thought we were supposed to win that with points. I didn't know we were supposed to be looking for it.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Tyler Obit site was last edited Sept. 9th, Tuesday.

Yeah, I assume everyone received the email for the deleted game editors. I don't know. I've lost a little bit of interest in the show and I think that is what they're getting at with making the changes. Hopefully, this will be a good change and we can move forward from here.

A small rant, bear with me

I don't know...for me, this whole thing is rather counter-productive. As "friends" of the characters, we're all supposed to get together and help them out by interacting with them and, I'm assuming, "influencing" the plot. Yet, we're then supposed to turn around and claw past one another to figure clues out before anyone else so as to earn points which are used for who knows what really. At least they figured out the inner circles of friendship thing wasn't flying.

As far as the show (minus the game aspect), the writing leaves much to be desired. Unless there's some grand reveal happening, and I'm not holding my breath, did they or did they not just kill the entire reason of the show? I was lead to believe this revolved around a girl who suffered a traumatic incident and is trying to piece her life together while a conspiracy looms around her. That's a paraphrase of what the site says, after all. So she dies, and another supporting character we knew even less about dies. I wouldn't mind a supporting character getting bumped off, nevermind the fact none of the characters have been fully fleshed out so their deaths have no lasting emotional impact, except that we only have five characters in the whole show here. Now three.

And now Zach needs my help? Zach?! Are you serious?! The guy who sold out his partner to the evil corporation and is working hand-in-hand with them against Tyler (who is now dead), and Ethan?! Pardon my french, but f@@k Zach, he can go twist in the wind for all I care! Of the three characters we have left, Ethan is the only truly sympathetic character, and the only one who needs help. If the puppetmasters/writers are reading this, you've painted yourself into a corner you can't get out of. If the point of continuing the story was to get Tyler's phone number, and no one was figuring that out, there were two reasons for that, and a better solution to your problem than the one you chose. First, and foremost, discouraging collaboration between players by pitting them against each other in a competition of points did nothing for the game but send mixed signals (see comments in first paragraph). As we learned from The Beast and the Cloudmakers, many heads are better than one. The second reason is much simpler; the puzzle was too difficult. As I type this, I'm attemping to reverse-engineer the solution, and I'm still not figuring it out. If someone else has, more power to them. The point being, if no one was figuring it out, a hint leading us to the solution should of been given.

Even though this message came off very snarky, I do feel sympathy for the actors who are not going to see this through when this show/game dies, and for the puppetmasters who had the seed of a good idea (girl caught up in a grand conspiracy) but muddled it up with a not fully thought out concept (have everyone be friends with the characters yet undercut one another through a point system). If nothing else, this will serve as a good experiment for other ARGs to see what went wrong with this one and not to fall into the same traps.

I agree

I have to agree, Redshoes. First 3 wks i was all into this but began losing interest and really have only been lurking. First 2 wks everyone was active and we all felt we were getting somewhere. But once they pts system was implemented the helpful hands from fellow posters got few and slim. I agree that killing Tyler kind of sucks but at same time it sounds like they are working on fixing some of their probs midseason. The other turn off for me personally has been all the live events in NYC, I am actually kind of jealous of ole Irene. I understand it's based outta NYC and all but I just got the feeling like I am missing out. It would of been cool to of filmed these "in game" events. Then possibly through our interaction with Ethan or something to have still been able to see it. (maybe they did and that's next weeks episode)

So, just watched the video....now what? LOL.

This definitely sucks. I was having such a great time yesterday, and now this has happened. I don't know, it all feels like today's weather.

You're right, Irene. It's made out in the game details that Tyler's phone number was the highest reward to be gained. Level one: private messages, level two: personal e-mail, level three: video chat, level four: phone number.

I've toyed with the idea of trying to track down the phone number, but didn't because I thought it would be a waste of time. I'm very curious in which way the number could've been found, simply from a puzzle solving perspective.

I would assume that the numbers to letters key from the MP3 was what we should have used. I'm willing to bet that there is a string of 11 random letters somewhere which when you take A as 0 and B as 1 and so on they resolve themselves into a phone number
