It seems that Hutchinson Biotech. was formed after WWII by Gillian Hutchinson and Marc Steinz(remember them from Barrett Harper's memos). The obvious implication is that her research on the Awlyn prisoners formed the basis for the company's products and technologies. Could their research on the Awlyn be continuing?

Have now found the time to explore the Hutchinson BioTech site.
Nothing found that is really interesting.
Nevertheless I wonder about the application for the scholarship programme. Besides that the deadline was already on April 1st, they wanted a lot of information. And you even have to sign that the information is correct:
Quote:
By signing below I certify that the information provided in this Scholarship Program Application is true and complete. I authorize Hutchinson BioTech's Scholarship Committee to verify or obtain further information that the committee may deem necessary concerning my application. I understand that this application and essay will be retained whether or not I am awarded a scholarship. I also understand that the decision of Hutchinson BioTech's Scholarship Committee is final and that my name, photograph and essay (video) may be used for publicity purposes. All identifying information such as birth date, address, phone number, and names of relatives and references will remain confidential.
Strange!

I don't know, that seems like a perfectly authentic sort of passage for a scholarship application. I wouldn't read too much into it.
Also, the scholarship's been extended for the Class of 2009 (i.e. the 12th-graders who are graduating from SLA next June). So I'm assuming some of us will be encouraged to apply for it later in the year.

I emailed Randy Slive from Hutschinson BioTec and asked:

Dear Mr. Slive,
I have seen that the official deadline for scholarship programme application has been extended. Unfortunately I did not found any information about the new deadline.
Could you please give me the missing information.
His reply:

I will not apply for it, but if anyone else wants...

In my e-mail
"Mr. Sleestaxx,
I will forward your resume to our human resources department for further review. You may be contacted to submit a form verifying your identity for background checks and security clearance verification. I must inform you that at no time has Hutchinson BioTech researched or developed biological weapons. Our military products are dedicated to the well being, safetty, and war fighting capabilities of the men and women who put their lives on the line every day defending our freedoms. We will do any and all things to decrease the odds of our soldiers making the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield. The development and production of biological weapons does not decrease those odds, but increases them.
Best wishes,
Randy Slive

Now clearly my educational background and e-mail states i am a doctor not a mister. LOL
I did not think that my resume would induce such a response to bio research. but then again many people do not like the idea i work for The Umbrella Corp.

A number of points about Hutchinson BioTech that I think are note worthy:
1. Founded 1948 by Gillian Hutchinson and Marc Steinz
2. During World War II, Gillian and Marc were imprisoned by the Nazi regime
3. In 1975 Gillian died during childbirth
4. In 1991, Marc Steinz retired and was replaced by his nephew Nathan Steinz.
5. February 19th 2008 Department of Defense funding decreased for several projects
6. May 9th 2008 Hutchinson BioTech Scholarship fund extended for class of 2009
Points of interest:
• At the end of 1948 Barett Harper was still working for the DoD with both Hutchinson and Steinz. Hutchinson BioTech must have been setup while they were working directly for the US Defence Dept.
• Barett Harper mentions Dr. Nathaniel Steinz in his memos not Marc Steinz
• Barett Harper says in his memo that Steinz and Hutchinson supported the Nazis during the war and that Gillian had a picture of Himmler on her wall.
• During WW2 they were both leading bioengineers. At the very least they were 20 years old in 1945. By 1975 Gillian was at least 50. Late in life to start a family, especially with someone she had known for over 30 years.
• Nathan Steinz replaced Marc Steinz, I wonder.
• In February 2008 the DoD cut funding to HBT. In May HBT gave funding to St Laudines. Possibly as a way to get access to more Awlyn. Also in May the first 2 users to sign up to the SLA web site were admin (Novak) and DeGrance. None of the other staff signed up until September.
Just thought I'd put this out to see what others think. I think that HBT is a front for the Dod. That Marc and Nathan Steinz are the same person. That Gillian is not dead. That they are possibly Awlyn. That the school is being used as a way to track Awlyn.
I also think it would be a good idea if a member of the newspaper staff looked for an interview with the founder of one of the schools main supporters to try to get answers to some of the above.
Sorry for the long post but its been bothering me for a while.
