PHONE CALL!!!

Got a phone call from Anna via a Relay operator. I managed to get a crappy recording but I'm going to post a transcript asap. DON"T ASK ABOUT DAVID. at least not until you find out more about gracey.

I'll post the recording as soon as i've cleaned it up a bit.

EDIT: Ok so after a brief scare of a laptop losing power and unsaved recordings and restoring temp files... I'm posting the audio of the phone call. No Poking Fun! I know I sound like a goober Razz

... This phone call was made through a confirmed TTY relay company (for deaf people). You miss about the first minute of the recording where she's (the operator) is explaining how TTY works over the phone. You can't hear her very well and probably can hear me too well.

Here is a condensed transcript with the operator taken out so that it looks like it's just me and Anna conversing:

I'm going to go and slow that david_vox.mp3 track down and see what I can make of it, because it's waaay too fast, and I've got really bad hearing, LOL.
My mom speaks a bit of Spanish, and her first language is something pretty similar to Spanish, so maybe she can help with writing a transcript or something like that.

EDIT: Nyeh. I'm using Windows Movie Maker (I don't have GarageBand on this computer Confused

), and it isn't really helping. Slowing it down to half the speed makes the voice too slow and it changes the pitch pretty dramatically, so much so that the words are even harder to pick out. I'll just let my mom listen to it, now.

EDIT 2: Mother cannot quite make out the words.. I'll try using Audacity to slow it down.

Ah got it. No mentioning David too soon. I'll leave Anna a voice mail message in the morning and see how that goes. (My cell phone's broken so I can't make any calls at the moment).

"Anna"'s email reply gave me a giggle. I guess she took it pretty well considering. Razz

It's not every day you get an email that's a matter of life or death (that is, I guess, unless you're an ARGer).

Okay, I've slowed down the david_vox track on Audacity and exported it as an mp3 file.

Following the pattern, it turns out there is a "david.caldwellSPLATgmail.com" as well. I sent him an email saying I was a pen-pal of Gracie's...hopefully this isn't a bad idea lol, and hopefully he'll write back. (you know, if he isn't dead or anything ><)

@hatpins - The new files helps A LOT. Thanks a TON to you and Matrix for cleaning it up/making it understandable. I'm pretty sure I can tackle it now...

Trying to decipher the vox file right now, and its really garbled in the middle (even in the original). I'll try my best but the other translations look to be fairly accurate from what I can make out.

Maybe its time to start trying to guess the password for GDOS?

Possibly but I'm starting to get the impression that GDOS is being put on hold here for a little bit. I've been firing off emails left and right from several different email address and haven't received replies from any of them. Has anybody else left messages for Anna. I think that's going to be our next line of contact. Either that or PMCs are going to be doing follow up calls to those that received calls from Anna wondering why we were talking to her or strong arming us not to. I don't remember who emailed david.caldwellSPLATgmail.com ... did we ever hear an answer off of that?

I left my number with Anna yesterday morning, but haven't heard anything from her yet (not that I'm entirely sure what I'm gonna say if/when she calls me back Razz

). Also sent off some password attempts at the GDOS thing, but no replies from that either. Maybe we're missing something?

Though... our last waiting period between updates was about two and a half days, so I'll wait patiently for now. Smile

EDIT: Phone call! Sadly I was outside and nowhere near my computer at the time to record all this. Twas really noisy and it didn't help me understanding her. xP
I'll write up what I made out from the conversation.

I believe he got much of the same information I did, and more. I'm just happy I got a call though. ^_^

So basically I told her I was in communication with Gracey via email. Anna asked me when this was. I told her it's been a few weeks, and she said that it was impossible.
Gracey's been gone for 9 months. o.O

Anna asked me if I was from AU, [EU?], or some [other?] PMC, and mentioned that people kept calling her voicemail and hanging up. Razz

Anyway, she kept being very suspicious of me...
and ended the call with "Nice try, I9".

Wasn't I9 helping her though?

(Sorry I don't have an exact transcript/recording. Twas hard to hear with all the background noise and I didn't catch a few words here and there. Sad

For an operator who works for a service for the hearing impaired, she sure spoke softly. Razz

Or maybe I'm losing my hearing. Already. o.O And now I'm rambling. I'm still on a high from the call at the moment. xD)

i hate being the bearer of bad news but I believe Gracey is no longer with us. From the information I received I believe she was killed in the conflict...
