Word on the street is Johnny Depp is in talks to play the Riddler, and Philip Seymour Hoffman to play the Penguin...

The Fanboy within me has been crying tears of joy ever since I heard that.

I doubt the Penguin is going to happen, ever. The Penguin works great in pencil and ink, but he's really hard to flesh out believably. Depp isn't right for the Riddler. Depp is great at playing quirky, odd-beat characters, but the Riddler, I don't see it. Admittedly I'm thinking more like the Riddler from B:TAS and not the 60s show.

And the Riddler isn't Quirky and odd beat? His life is in riddles. he seems somewhat hyper. Depp seems to fit the roll a lot.

Not in B:TAS, he was much more calculating, not at all like Frank Gorshin or Jim Carrey (for one he didn't wear a goofy one-piece jumpsuit). They should've used him more in the series.

Don't get me wrong on Depp, I like him a lot (except for 21 Jump St.). However, over the week-end I watched "Ed Wood", and noticed so much of that character in Willy Wonka that it kind of throw me out of the movie, it was really distracting because "Ed Wood" is a biopic made 11 year earlier. I just think Depp is running low on quirk and off-beat. Maybe he just needs to work less with Burton, whom I am also a fan of, to stretch his bounds. If Burton put The Riddler in a batman movie, I'd expect Depp to be playing the part. Nolan has shown with the last two movies that he is capable of finding talent in unexpected places. Smile

I don't know what the status of the game is... but, omg, The Dark Knight has earned more than $500 million. The financial success of The Dark Knight is staggering. Second only to that god-awful movie Titanic, I'm betting (hoping) TDK revenue eventually passes that film.

I have to say, I'm sure the ARG contributed to the marketing success of this film. I lost track of the number of references the film had to things in the game (I see there is a thread here about it) or is that vice versa?

The integration from the end of Batman Begins, to the story of the game and then on to the plot of TDK was fairly seamless. I don't know if this level of integration has been achieved before; I think it will be a tough act to follow.

Well done PMs and players.

Note my source for the revenue...
Quote:
In fourth place, "The Dark Knight" was still "The Dark Knight," the biggest cultural phenomenon since "The Macarena," earning $5.7 million in its eighth week. With an astounding $512 million total, the Batman sequel almost has more money now than Batman himself, or at least it would have before Bruce Wayne went from "millionaire playboy" to "billionaire playboy." (And when did that happen? Somebody write in with the answer.)

And it's going to make more if this happens.

While I can't really officially say anything, I can, however, point out that I'm posting in this thread.

All I've gotten so far is that they are all rollercoasters.

All I've gotten is that, plus line 5 is all screwy and gives 10 results. Not conductive to solving.

EDIT: *ahem* I mean no it doesn't.

So has anyone figured out what this means?

Roller Coasters fit into the whole Joker Carnival theme but what does this have to do with anything at this point?

hmmmmm?
