It's about time they got around to doing one Wink I put my email out but so far have not gotten a reply.

Did anyone else notice the quote at the top of the website reading "There is no good or evil, only power and those too weak to seek it"? Wasn't that a quote of Voldemort's, or am I mistaken?

Also, I think I found either a possible puppetmaster, or a character:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

in the book it was Quirrel, in the movie it was Voldemort, if I remember right Wink

"You seek the name of the brother
Of he who guides the story's path;
Exchanging tickets with another
For relief from Ministry wrath"

This reminds me of R.A.B. (brother of Sirius), who "guided the story's path" with the lost locket. The trio had to "exchange tickets with another" (Polyjuice Potion) to escape "Ministry wrath" when going after Umbridge, since they were the top Undesirables.

"An ancient brigade, strong and true
In battle we gained our name.
As deadly Arrows around us flew,
Not a single man was slain. "

I also thought of the Appleby Arrows, a team which used to shoot arrows from their wands when one of their Chasers scored.

The line, "The truth that lies between" makes me think there is another word in "Veritas." One word is, "RITA," (Skeeter) who always strove for "the truth."

Wh-wh-what??! "Rita Skeeter" and "strive for the truth" don't exactly fit in the same sentence. Wink

ETA:

Quote:
No more than one is needed
For meetings clandestine;
Keep changing numbers heeded
To discover date and time.

This kind of makes me think of the Time-Turner that Hermione Granger used in The Prisoner of Azkaban to travel time and attend more classes than actually possible. Kind of grasping at straws, I know.

ETA 2: Also makes me think of a Portkey since only one is needed to transport many to a set location (like a clandestine meeting place). Portkeys are activate by saying the numbers "One, Two, Three"

The line, "The truth that lies between" makes me think there is another word in "Veritas." One word is, "RITA," (Skeeter) who always strove for "the truth."[/quote]that makes sense but i think it's just veritas since veritas means truth.

concerning the appleby arrows that makes sense except for the part about the arrows being deadly, and the whole 'ancient brigade' thing. The amazon women sounded likely except I can't remember anything about them being in the potterverse unless the appleby arrows got the inspiration for the name from them (stretching i know)

then i think you could be right about the brother one, because while i do Dumbledore played a more important part in guiding the story's path, RAB did play an important part and if it's him that would make his brother sirius, who gave hagrid his bike before going to kill wormtail because he knew the ministry would have an easy time following it.

then vapor, you talked about a portkey or a timeturner being it. portkey maybe but the riddle says to 'keep changing numbers heeded' heeded means these numbers are ones we've paid attention to which makes me think 10/15. And if you switch those, one of the dates you get is 11/05 Guy FAWKES day, the guy who tried to blow up parliment and whom Dumbledore named his phoenix after. But then again I think you could be right about it being a portkey in the first part, but then I think it could also be 11/05 in the second part.

It makes more sense when you realise that the answer to the riddle isn't the Appleby Arrows but their rival team the Wimbourne Wasps.

The Wasps were an old Quidditch team ("ancient brigade") which got its team name when a team member batted a wasp's nest at the opposing team ("In battle we gained our name"), which happened to be the Appleby Arrows ("As deadly Arrows around us flew"). The "not a single man was slain" bit refers to them not being literal arrows, I imagine.

hey! i think ive just figured something out, but i need everyone to post their riddles exactly as they were sent, like copy and paste.

some letters in the riddles are capitalized, maybe they spell out a word or make an anagram of a word that we have to decode further.

and im not talking about the first letters because those are almost always capitalized in stanza form.

You seek the Name of the brother
Of he who guides this story's path;
Exchanging tickets with another
For relief from Ministry wrath.

NM

then I though L could be a letter too but we need the rest.

I just realized something. L is definitely Ludo Bagman, I know everyone here is like 'duh' but now that I think about it it's really obvious!

"How did the goblins find my trail so quickly?" remember the goblins were on his trail in GoF because he owed them gold?

Now this probably doesn't help very much but I just thought I'd share.

On the contrary, this makes the entire "brother" riddle clear!

You seek the Name of the brother
Of he who guides this story's path;
Exchanging tickets with another
For relief from Ministry wrath.

Ludo Bagman ("he who guides this story's path") has a brother called Otto Bagman. Arthur Weasley helped him with a problem he had ("for relief from Ministry wrath") and in exchange, Otto gave Arthur tickets to the Quidditch World Cup final ("Exchanging tickets with another"). http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Otto_Bagman

Hi!

Now that we found out L's name is probably Ludo Bagman, I went searching him up.

He used to be the beater of the Wimbourne Wasps--Who are rivals of the Appleby Arrows as Zephonith pointed out. He is also the head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports. Since he loves gambling...

A Gambler's word, the safest bet

This most likely suggests that we should only trust his word.

This may be unrelated, but he used to be suspected of being a Death Eater.

Good catch on Ludo Bagman. That definitely puts it all into perspective.

If you read these literally, the answers to the riddles only contain parts of the domain. That is not to say that the answers will be used exactly in the domain name.

So here are some of my thoughts based on that

Triwizard = www (tri W's)
Wasps = .asp (a file extension for web files)

So we might end up with something like www.galleons.com/w.asp or maybe www.mugglequidditch.org/galleons.asp

Grasping at straws? You betcha.

pART FOUR
part four

In the Deathly hallows, 'The Tale Of the Three Brothers" was written down by the third brother. He therfore is the first to acually "guide" the story. The clue might be refering to one of the other brother or maybe one of the other brother's hallows!
