Well if there is supposed to be some sort of game afoot tied to the television show, I am completely bored and tired of looking for it. Love the show - nice escape on a Tuesday evening, but I really don't see anything web worthy.

We're four eps in - lots of cute allusions and interesting references, but either they've either hidden the interactive component so well no one can find it - or there isn't one.

JMO of course, and too bad - I was looking forward to it.

Its too bad I'm starting to feel the same. I don't think we are the only ones seeing as how there is no thread for last nights episode either. Its really a shame I was looking forward to something fun here.

Regardless if you were to put in anything it would still pop up that access denied page.

Reflection in Massive Dynamic's rotating M logo

I just noticed something. Forgive me if this has been posted before but there's something very interesting about the reflection in the rotating MD logo on md.com. It seems to be reflecting an orb in the center of a room with doors and windows. I've searched through the other Fringe threads and there was no mention made of this apart from these observations:

Looks like http://www.massivedynamic.com is live now "Updating Our Site. Updating Your Life." Just a under construction page, but it has the MD logo rotating on it. And can anyone make our what is being reflected in the logo? It looks as if though it is reflecting a room or something of that sort, not just some generic reflection pattern. Also if you click the logo there is a weird little noise (sounds kind of like a sound that would go with a news graphic and also slightly reminiscent of the hanso site from the lost arg/e).

Did Massive Dynamics always play music when you clicked on the rotating M?

It's not just shadows but it looks like a 360° picture that it rotates through. You can see buildings and windows.

Yes, it's like inside a room, with windows and such...if I could figure out how to do a fast screen cap...

I tried, but I just can't seem to time it well enough to see what it is showing us. Seems odd that they'd make it look like that if they didn't want us to see something in that reflection.

here it is
http://n2.nabble.com/Notes-on-Massive-Dynamics-td19757.html

MassiveDynamic.com's current index page, the default page that comes up when you browse to http://www.massivedynamic.com , is index.php. Trying to find the original 'Under Construction' page mentioned by Apopheniac, I typed in http://www.massivedynamic.com/index.htm , but came across a generic 'Not Found' page. I tried again with the html extension, and came across what I assume is the original 'Under Construction' page referred to, http://www.massivedynamic.com/index.html .

According to the page source, the Flash file embedded on the page is http://www.massivedynamic.com/massivedynamic-blur.swf . I found it odd that the file would be named massivedynamic-blur.swf, which suggests that the animation is intentionally blurry so nothing can be made out... so dispensing with the "blur" part of the filename, this is what I came up with: http://www.massivedynamic.com/massivedynamic.swf . Much much clearer. There's something here, I can feel it. There must be a way to make a composite of each frame and determine what the M is reflecting.

Again, I apologize if this has been posted before, but I haven't seen it mentioned.

EDIT: It doesn't seem to be reflecting the external set shown on http://n2.nabble.com/Notes-on-Massive-Dynamics-td19757.html , but judge for yourself.

rotating M
reflections

Cool

Yes it was posted earlier this summer. On the original MD building the M was over the entrance. The reflection is the building across the street, the sun, the street and MD headquarters.

Thanks. The fact that the animation was deliberately obfuscated and the word "blur" included in its filename, while the sharper animation was hidden and unlinked from anywhere on the site is what led me to believe it was relevant. Here's a direct link to the sharper animation itself: http://www.massivedynamic.com/Fringe_Big_M.flv .

email from tech support

I also got an email response from Massivedynamic tech support today. I had emailed them about how my Z10 was brokien and the lights on the front didn't even come on anymore. I was as ambiguous as possible but this is all I got.

Quote:

Thank you for purchasing a Massive Dynamic product.

Our records do not indicate that you completed a product

registration form at the time of your purchase. We are

therefore unable to offer you technical support at this time.

So at least we're now getting feedback. Maybe we're just asking the wrong questions.

MD email
my reply

Here is the reply I just got from Massive Dynamic:
Quote:
Thank you for contacting Massive Dynamic. We have assimilated your information into our record system. We will contact you with any developments relevant to your inquiry.

That was in response to this email I sent the day the site went live:

To whom it may concern, the first few links on your website's "Contact Us" page don't work. You might want to fix that.
Unless it's part of the pattern.

The attached image was imbedded in the email. The file name is !cid_bottom@5613533252951b3198be997e604cefd4.jpg

Though it might be hex but nope. Working on possible conversions.

ETA: No luck on conversions. I sent an email to !cid_bottom@5613533252951b3198be997e604cefd4.com and it has not yet bounced back. *crosses fingers*

I got the same IT message about ehm sanctions. Smile
There is nothing in the source beside of using of a nonstandard nonbreaking space string:

Code:

instead of
Code:

It's cool, they are alive though... I'm thinking about two possibilities: either they want to make us curious about continuating "hacking" their systems.

Or (the disappointing way) they just haven't really an ARG concept for Massive Dynamic, so they send it to is with meaning "we are here, but there is actually nothing to do now".

P.S. For insiders here, I send it from the account of Hans Altmann, hehe Smile

Cool

I got an e-mail response as well from MD saying they couldn't fill my request for info on gene research or job openings but it would be preserved.

I thought what is the best way to get contact information to the PMs? apply for a job!
Quote:

To whom it may concern,
I attempted to get my resume submitted for the Computational Biologist position posted, but the submit resume link appears to be down.
I would appreciate the gesture of forwarding my resume to the proper department.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at any of the points I have listed in the resume or this e-mail address.

Thanks
Dr. John Sleestaxx

Sorry, but I'm anal that way.

Maybe there's a puzzle in the typos? Wink [There's another on their Coastal Protection Project page]

popups/costal_protection.html

I know it's a little silly, but you'd think someone would be vetting this stuff - a typo on a page slips by easily enough, but on the actual page names? Twice?

Not to mention all the broken linkage.
