I figure you're right about some not being infected since it says lurkers are to be quarantined. I recognize four names after mine so think the rest of the list are lurkers.

Whew! I was at a fantasy/sci-fi convention this weekend. I was afraid my absence would mean I ended up on the quarantine list. Glad to see it didn't!

So I guess i can post as a proxy for anyone if needed. Just give me some time because I'm not always on UnF! LOL

Tres--the NYT article you mention is from "January 12, 1914, Monday". Downloaded the file to verify and not only is the type face ancient it's also signed "CAROLYN C. VAN BLARCOM, Committe for the Prevention of Blindness. New York, Jan 10,1914".

Very not sure about this connection but who knows. Dunno

The masthead showed today's date on the preview; I should have checked it more thoroughly. Still, it's possible that there's some contamination going on (as I was reading about the wood alcohol, it reminded me of the melamine-tainted products coming from China).
