New Email...

Seems like we're intercepting Alan's emails, somehow...

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your email the other day, sorry it took me so long to
reply, been snowed under here as ever! Can’t believe you’re
managing to use a satellite phone, thought you didn’t really get
along with technology. Glad to hear you’re surviving Uganda so far
(apart from the tummy bug…but then you have a weak stomach..remember
Brighton? Lol.) So I’m just about to check out your linkd in
profile.

All the best and take care of yourself!

Sukie.

Sukie Edmondson.

Uhhh... okay.

Let me go and check Alan's spinebreaker page, in case something's been updated there.

The Real Alan Hackston

Well oddly enough I figured out that the Alan Hackston is Ben Akin-Smith in real life. I do not know if that matters. I figured it out because one of his blog followers is a friend in real life. They have an old blog together. It looks like the real Alan Hackston is a photographer?!

Not to break the mystery of all this... we're definitely cognizant of the in-game/out-of-game split. So while it's cool for find out who's playing a particular character, it doesn't have any bearing on the actual game.

We'll take note of this for when the game's over. Depending on the extent of his role, it could be cool to have him as part of an after-game chat.

'Till then...

one question, I've tried to find out more info on Sukie. Thus far I haven't anything.

She'd be the next possible line of inquiry until we hear again from Joseph--or until we crack Alan's VM password.

So Ive tried looking at all the websites- Vimeo, flicker, alans blog, quantamsat, reuters ect and no new info. Im hoping there will be some more info today as yest was joseph's blog on alan's page. Im no computer wizz kid so reading ip addresses and such is beyond me, but I really dont think they would make it that inaccessable. here's hoping something pops up soon. Im trying to think of a way to contact the sat phone but no joy yet.

Anyone have anything else?

Linkedin connections are more to promote the game by the look of it - see http://www.facebook.com/pages/British-Red-Cross/26698813123

If the messenger was only there for one day, it's too late for Joseph as he was menat to be in Hopetown yesterday. See Alans blog, in particular

Today I'm heading for Hopetown to find this messenger to see if they have any news of my Mum. He's only going to be there for one day. Today's my last chance; I have to find the messenger. And so I'm walking to Hopetown.

Email bounced back

I'm new to ARG, so Traces of Hope is my first attempt. I tried replying to Joseph's email but I just this minute got a "undelivered email" report from my email host. Apparently it was in a queue too long.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm stumped at the moment. I have the email from Sukie Edmondson but I can't really get a lot of info from that email, except maybe "satms26" could be Alan's user name?

Dr. Helmut Arndt

Dr. Helmut Arndt

I'm sure this name might prove useful as he wrote the foreword in Hackston's fictional book on Penguin Press advertised via the spinebreakers website.

Nothing online about him as yet...

Great eye (no pun intended) on spotty Dr. Helmut's name, eyesmash.

Thusfar here is our cast of characters...

Joseph

Alan Hackston

Sokie Edmondson

Dr. Helmut Arndt

I'll come back and edit this post with character summaries in a bit...
