u damn n00bs, Blizzard won't ban u for playing on a pServer like wowscape cause Blizzard is using this that all pServer have much bugs and are lagging like shît... Blizzard is thinking that if u see all this laggs and server crashes that u will change to official World of Warcraft Community. If there would be somebody banned then it is the Community of that server u currently connected on, but not your Account. So stop fúckîng saying such n00b things.

Indeed, red. Laughing

To comment on your....message, for lack of a better word.
That....doesn't make sense. Your Account IS banned when they find the connection. I know 3 people who got banned for being on pServers at the same time as playing WoW. So you fail. End.

Hmm, love your avatar gregory so I hate to disagree with you Razz.

1) The internet isn't magic, how could blizzard know what server your playing on, if they can't even shut down the private servers?

2) Logic test: They ban a PAYING player for playing on a private server, player thinks, "Hmm, I'm banned from real servers, guess I'll stick to free private one's from now on. And stop giving blizzard my money."

3) The only evidence you have is hearsay.

I'm not saying it's legal to play on private servers, it is definitely against the terms of service (Specifically you are not allowed to edit the game files, so changing the realmslist file is illegal in and of itself) And I could see them using it as an excuse to ban someone, but not solely for that reason. It's just terrible business sense.

In fact I would go so far as to say that the private servers are great for blizzards business. People who otherwise would never play wow, and I can point you to 3 people here, get to try it out. One of them has even gone retail. And isn't banned. Cool

1. Big Brother is watching you. *cough*

2. I totally meant that. >.> Seriously. I just forgot to put it in my post. And if that's what Mr. 1337 over there meant, my apologies. Kind of hard to read that.

3. ...or IP tracking. See 1) above.

Okay, just to let everyone know, I am a regular customer service forum troll on the Wow Forums. Playing on private servers? Can and will get you banned from the retail. If you haven't yet, it's just a matter of time.

They have this program that is installed with wow called Warden. Warden detects tiny little changes that are made in the game that shouldn't be. It will then flag that account for the next ban wave after a full investigation. Believe me, people come to the CSF all the time wondering why they were banned, and it turns out it was private server/botting/buying gold etc.

I actually have a copy paste to use on people trying to play Wow, and for some reason, can't get connected. Most of the time it's because they used a private server. It will change game files, hence making it hard to reconnect.

Edit: Also people have been sued for running Private Servers. And Blizzard has won those suits. It's not just against the rules of Wow, it's actually against the law.

Okay, I'll start. Are we going to do all of one thing first like states or doesn't it matter?

Right now we're playing on a private server which means that you don't need a retail account and it doesn't cost a thing, just follow the instructions to download the client, expansion, and set your realmlist.

Erm - Really? You do realize that this is beyond piracy, as the server is not published, and probably actually constitutes theft, and theft of services?

If you're too cheap to pay for a sub, then don't play the game.
