I don't know how Mikey could have overpowered a Council member and escaped. Especially a werewolf. Maybe he had some help after all. This is very disturbing news.

I'm guessing that one of the operatives was a demon since they were able to escape without anyone seeing them. Demon's can make you think you didn't see something and unless they've installed cameras at the school then they've only got to worry about the guys hanging out in the woods looking like squirrels and other critters.

LOL, I was thinking along the same lines when I saw that.

I sent a PM to Jan, since her and I seem to have a good working relationship, and asked her for some more info about what went down on the campus, if she knows. I also planted the seeds for putting SEALs and Amun together. Waiting to hear back on that. We'll see.

I need to go pick up a camera of some sort so I can do the challenges. The built-in iSight isn't cutting it for me...

 		If they're killing members of the DC, are we sure we want to work with SoM? What exactly are their goals here? Maybe we should make sure that they aren't just trying to overthrow the established elite in return for new elite status.

Yes, I know that in any revolution there are casualties, but to make your first semi-public act murder of a DC member? Seems a bit extreme to me.

Maybe we can get some answers from DeGrance. She pm'd me letting me know that now may not be the right time for an interview, but if I send her questions, she'll answer what she feels is appropriate. So help me out here on a question list. I'm thinking:

Description of Michael Surry, including confiscated items - mostly to find out what those items were, under the guise of us being able to identify him if necessary.
Circumstances surrounding his capture and imprisonment.
Anything he might have said that was relevant.
Possibilities for escape from the school (ie who might have helped him)
Condition of the body and interrogation room (was it murder? self-defense? ill-timed natural death? etc)

Anything I forgot? I'll try to word the questions so that it's more like I'm writing an article and not just grilling her. I guess that means I actually have to write an article. Crap. Razz

 		Sounds like some great questions. I can't really think of any more. Maybe ask if anything like this has ever happened before? People sneaking around or anyone getting caught by security. I wonder when we'll hear from Mikey again. Does the DC know where he lives? He may have to lay low for a while. Sad

 		Be careful my friend. We don't know who helped Mikey or why. If it is possible try to find out how Eldred Wulfheard was killed. The condition of the body, any cuts, marks or burns way be revelling. DeGrance was the first to find the body. Did she help Surry to escape, she seems to have sympathy for the Seals, we don't know her attitude to SoM and she doesn't seem to fond of the DC. How did Mikey recover the items that were confiscated from him, who was minding them? It may all be a ruse to root out the SoM. I just don't trust her. I could be way off the mark, we'll see. Laughing

DeGrance is the youngest Dragon and may be trying to impress the DC, what better way than exposing the SoM?

On Monday, October 6, a human intruder, later identified as Michael Surry, was apprehended near campus while photographing the grounds and students (who caught him? how did he get so close in the first place?).
On Wednesday, October 8 (what happened on Tuesday? did Surry talk to anyone or do anything strange? where was he kept?), Eldred Wulfheard, the werewolf representative to the Dragon Council, arrived on campus to question Surry (did he mention what kinds of things he would be asking?). Wulfheard asked to be left alone with the prisoner (why was this granted? is this common practice?). After half an hour, the interrogation room was opened (was it locked? was anyone standing guard outside? why did someone return in half an hour? was that time interval pre-arranged? if the door was locked initially, was it upon return?), and Wulfheard's body was found inside (was the body physically marred? was there evidence of a struggle? was there damage to the room itself?). Michael Surry was no longer on campus (how could he have escaped? who could have helped him?).

Thank you so much for even allowing me to ask these questions of you. I know I may come off as cold, but I'm doing my best to be objective in order to deliver as much of the story as I can to my fellow students. Like I stated before, my aim is to remove as much of the mystery as I can in order to remove as much fear as is possible.

Let's hope I was tactful enough and she answers the questions for us. I wish I had remembered the confiscated stuff, but too late now. I'm hoping it's not important.

[EDIT] Matthew, thanks for implying that vampires have no feelings. Allows me to ask these questions, while offering a symbolic gesture of "sorry, just being objective" while being a total dick about interrogating someone while grieving. Perfect!

I didn't realize Mikey was simultaneously existing in an age of digital predators and investigating mob shootings in 1920s Chicago... Wink

No problem. With what little we know about "actual vampires" so far, I figured I could embellish a little bit, since we've already established I've grown up with 2 of them. The idea seemed to fit, to a point, so... (Besides, you're like that... Very Happy)

We're not positive that it was SoM that helped Mikey. It could have been DeGrance or someone else in the faculty, a student/students, other outside sources, or SoM. I only implied to Jan that whoever had helped out "this human guy" might be a good ally for the SEALs. Never mentioned Amun or SoM by name, and made it ambiguous enough that whoever helped (if someone even did, that's still speculation) would be the persons I was referring to. So yeah...

Oh, Degrance might just tell you want was on him anyway, depending on how much detail she goes in to based on your questions.

 		Rampant speculation, but maybe when Mikey performed the ritual he became a kind of Alwyn himself, and actually escaped without any help at all. Maybe Novak knows about this side effect and that's why he was against the ritual before. I think I remember Mikey saying he felt better than he had in years after the ritual.

BTW2 It wasn't the items that were confiscated that interested me but who was minding/examining them because if Eldred Wulfheard didn't have them with him when he died whoever did has to be the prime suspect, I think, maybe.

 		Interesting.

I heard back from Jan yesterday. She says she's holing up in her room and that she and her friends are all scared. She doesn't condone murder, either. No real news there. Sad Wish some more info would surface one way or the other. I'm also sort of thinking that classes are kind of on hold. That's why I haven't really responded to any of the class threads for this week.
