This seems obvious enough that somebody must have tried it by now, but I can't find any mention of anyone sending a message to Xander's MySpace account.

I've just sent this:

Quote:
Subject: Helping the Seven
Body: A number of us have found your messages, and we want to help. If you're able to reply safely, please let us know if there's anything we can do.

- A Friend

Fingers crossed...

 Hello :)

Hey all Very Happy
I've been a bit of a fan of ARG's for a while, but I seemed to always miss them... and lucky me, I stumbled upon an active one!

I spotted the U2 reference (I'm a big fan) and just wondering if there's any important reference somewhere to 'money', and with 'vent' being another repeated word, could this mean something?

-Projectyl, I sent him a message when I first picked up on this ARG and saw the site. No response, but I'll see if I can find the message...

New Daily Inspiration (seems to update at midnight PST).

Quote:

Mighty kings may keep
hundreds of pomegranates
carefully chained in rows.
But the humble man knows
where atop their pillars they
would go.

While not attributed to the bible, the hundreds of pomegranates seems to refer to King Solomon and the building of the temple (2 Chr 3:16). I'm searching around for the humble man now.

ETA - also in 1 Kings 7:13-22. Hiram (sometimes Huram) of Tyre was the architect. The two columns, each with a hundred pomegranates, were named Jakin and Boaz.

 Mighty kings like their fruit...

New daily inspiration!

By the looks of things from here:
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=11&chapter=7
It would seem that King Solomon is this mighty king they refer to in the passage.
http://www.phoenixmasonry.org/historypage.htm talks about how his palace(?) had hundreds of pome-thingies (never heard of them before) all chained in rows.
The rest of the passage I cannot decipher, but I'm gonna work on it now Very Happy

Edit: Damn it, just missed out. Anyways, could the humble man might be Moses? I've found a few possible references...
D-d-d-d-d-double Edit! Yeah, I agree, Hiram (the architect) seems a much more plausible idea, as he would know where atop their pillars they would go...

Possibly coincidental - someone earlier had mentioned tarot card symbols earlier I think related to the chalice in the video - the pillars of Jachin and Boaz are often depicted on the High Priestess card in the tarot deck, pomegranates and all.

I'd still like to have something that tied together the meaning of these different inspirations. The first clued the music puzzle which got us a myspace page that so far has not lead further. The second got us a cryptic message that might point to the letters but we don't know. The third gives us "Money" from U2's desire. This one points us to King Solomon's temple and the two pillars.

Hi. First time post. I've been following your progress.

I've read (well, listened to the audio book) Jesus Wants to Save Christians and there may be some connections here back to the book. The first part of the book is about the Isrealite's exodus to freedom from slavery in Egypt, their eventual drift from God, Solomon's amassing of wealth and building of an empire, then their exile to Babylon. This sets up one of his main premises in the book. Anyway...

So King Solomon, Moses (if he is the 'humble' man), Exodus (mentioned in 10/9 inspiration), 10/10 inspiration link to money - all could be links to JWTSC. I can't remember anything from the book that may clue us into "where atop their pillars they would go" which feels like could lead somewhere.

Also, did anyone else notice that Xander looks like Jesus in his picture?

I am happy to report that there are some people helping me look for Xander. But they haven't connected directly with him yet. I would appreciate any help you could offer. I'm not bad with computers and clues and whatnot... but I haven't been able to uncover the sorts of things you and others like you seem able to uncover!

CoV in my mailbox!

I don't remember giving out my home address, but I guess at some point along the way I must have: In my mailbox this morning was an envelope from the Citizens of Virtue. In it were the seven cards they've been handing out at various events. We already know about the phone number and what happens when you punch in various extensions... Could the physical cards be important in some way?

Update: I spoke with Trip just now. (Qaqaq, here on the board.) He received the cards, too, and also does not remember giving out his address. Our conclusion is that one of the people behind the game (who we both know) sent them to us. Nonetheless, I'll be curious to see who else here gets them.

One further note: On both Trip's envelope and my own, our names were slightly incorrect. My envelope came to "Mr. Erica Berlin," and Trip's was sent to "Norman Payne IV." First of all, though that's his real name, nobody calls Trip "Norman." Second of all, it should be III, not IV. Probably this is our mutual associate having a bit of fun, but I thought I'd throw it out there nonetheless.

savannah posted on FB

I agree with bcjam that JWTSC is probably key to everything here although having read what is freely available online, I can't yet link Chapter 1 or 2 to what we are doing except for these Exodus/Solomon links. Savannah Merks has written on the JWTSC FB wall as well (which hasn't happened anywhere else, although she is in other groups like Sarah Palin).

I just noticed a new update from Savannah on the CoV FB wall.

I hope you all are enjoying the first of our seven Virtual Virtues. Unfortunately, I've been so busy working on this campaign that I haven't had any time to read your posts! Be sure to keep up with everything going on at the Citizens of Virtue on the website. Oh, and some of our merchandise is now available!

The "new items" seem to just be the t-shirts that the virtu volunteers are wearing. Too bad - I was still hoping to get some Passionix for myself.

I think that's a nice little nudge to say OOG discussion on Facebook is safe... Razz

Count me among the carded. Mine were addressed to "Ms. Sylvia Michael", switching my first and last names. Smile

For the curious, the photographs on the site really do seem to convey all the information on the cards; the backs of the cards are just the CoV family-and-rainbow logo and URL on a plain white background.

(Edited to add: My gut instinct is that today's Daily Inspiration is telling us to pay attention to capitals, the architectural term for the tops of pillars. We might have to wait until Humility Week in early November to use that knowledge, though.)

I received my cards today. First I get a SL letter (Aporia Agathon) and now this. Well, I haven't got much to contribute yet, but this might be a bit useful.
I looked up the two pillars from Salomon's Temple and this stood out to me.

Nets of checkerwork covered the bowl of each chapiter, decorated with rows of two hundred pomegranates, wreathed with seven chains for each chapiter. Doubt it's of any use, but you never can be too sure with ARGs.

haha! No one else noticed this yet? The events page now has a video from the Passion event - I was laughing through the first half Very Happy it's great

http://www.citizensofvirtue.com/Events.aspx

Mainly because of...
* "Weezer" shows up after the Passion annoucement on the LED announcement board
* The extra-super-uber-excitedness of the virtu-volunteers announcing their virtue to the camera ("Kindness!!" *hop*, "DilliGence" Laughing)
* the march up the stairs
* handing out cards, Charity slips a card in someone's backpack
(then it goes to street interviews that are mostly hard to make out)

good stuff!

also, new inspiration:
Quote:
Consider: If those who worship
with the multitudes worship "in
large denominations," how shall
those who worship in splinter
groups worship?

More about separation (like chains vs pillars, now large denomination vs splinter groups).
Something tells me this is all something to do with the VENT thing. Confused

Also, the other 2 events took place on Friday... haven't heard anything from them (or people who attended). Savannah posted two new photos on facebook (from Sacramento; and, she has a man-hand? Razz )

Re Inspiration(10/12): "īn large denominations" can refer to US currency (the big bucks type). Laughing Again the word "groups"--splintered, in the field. A sub-divide of sorts?

ETA--RE(10/11) "where atop their pillars": The top part of a pillar is a capitol which is another word for equity and money as in "VENTure capital funds and firms".

I don't think this refers to the VENTs, or to anything else -- I think it's a riddle unto itself. And I'm starting to think ALL the quotes have individual answers, which we will have to use in some way.

The answer to this riddle is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
insects ("in sects")

(Yay! I was able to contribute something! Unless I'm wrong!)
